My car only needed about two 6oz cans of industrial r134 from envirosafe. On a ~92 degree day I think my highside was set at 250' ish.

I might have to check out that industrial 12a.

Will there be a group purchase? I'm interested in the drag set up depending on price. I just wish you guys were local so I could have you install. I'm sure I'll have a hard time finding someone that will want to touch this and I have no idea what I'm doing lol.

Hey Joe - are you still going to post up street driving and track results with the industrial 12a? Thanks...

Do you have to be licensed to get that? I'm assuming that it lowers vent temps also?

No you can order it right off their site, and yes your vent temps will be colder.

Guess I'll be ordering a case. But what am I going to do with all the extra cans of it? How long's the shelf life?

Don't know how long the shelf life is, but I've had cases of that stuff for years, and no issues when it was time to use some.

You should be able to get 3 cans in. Did you charge under a moderate vacuum? (about 10-15 inches)

How is the Group Purchase going? I am looking forward to the cool weather project.

The 03-04 Cobra GB is coming along fine, and then we'll do our usual GB here, as we do every year.

We will do one here in the next week or so when the 03-04 cobra GB is over.

Yes it's ready to go. We'll have video of the track first, and then one of it just driving around in stop and go traffic. I'll have the track video up tomorrow.

The last time at the track we saw 160+ iat-2 temps going thru the traps, and this time we saw 105, and 110. that's with 1.25 gallons total IC fluid capacity. The temps will be even colder with more IC fluid on tap. We're going to install an aux reservoir that's just over a gallon capacity, and then get more video. The one we're making we'll fit 07-12. We'll have to figure something different for the 13-14.

Yes, I was at about a -15 vacuum...

Envirosafe says one 6oz can of industrial r134 is equal to 16oz of r134. So that is ~32oz equivalent I put in, plus some r134 was mixed in from the PAG oil can.

Motorcraft states the stock system is fully charged at 21oz of R134a, for the 2010+ models.

Hopefully this is the right amount for my car, after you factor in the KC module and extra lines. I was right at about 2.9 X ambient on the high side after the PAG oil and two cans, and had to let a little out.

Joe--when you log the quarter would you log IAT2 both at the line and going thru the traps? And would you tell us how long the car sat idling prior to the run? Thanks.

I am more excited about this mod than any other on my wish list. Very awesome that you have a GT500 test vehicle now

Track video

The video shows two passes. you'll see IAT-2 and IAT-1

On the second vid we let it chill for a little bit longer, so that's why it was 5 degrees cooler going thru the traps.

You'll wanna view it in full screen mode to see the temps. I'm most impressed with the the mile an hour we picked up. We went from 118-119s to consistently 123s

Our best time was an [email protected]. That's not bad considering we're over a mile in DA.

That is impressive. In the second video the IAT2s started off around 102* and then declined to 93* or so before climbing to 105* at the traps.

Joe, do you have an estimate of how long the car was idling for prior to the first and second runs? Thanks.

I'm in no way knocking this but I was expecting a little lower temps. I use a little ice in a Moroso fuel cell opening reservoir and have seen basically the same results and the outside temps were similar. Am I missing something? Maybe I was just expecting more and again I'm sorry I'm not knocking your product just inquiring

Don't forget that the intake has hot engine coolant running through it so there will always be that to battle with.

I've also seen some evidence recently that there is such a thing as too cold. Not concrete A-B-A testing on a GT500 but enough to get me thinking. My buddies drag car started to lose power under 100deg IAT. Where the IAT's are on that car are PLENTY good.

And the IAT one was super high. If that was rectified the IAT2 would drop even more.

BTW I couldn't actually see the temps in the video, bad angle on the predator. I have the same predator gauge and if I wear polarized sunglasses I can't read my gauge lol. I was going off what another member posted. Is there a way to get a better angle on that gauge or some readings for the 12 second run?

how are you measuring your temperature and where are you measuring the temperature?

I'm guessing IAT1's are at the MAF using the stock temp sensor and the IAT2's are taken in the intake manifold after the IC and before the intake port using the stock sensor. The data is sent to the ECU and the gauge reads the ECU data.
