Just talked to a friend of mine that owns a dealership in western Kansas. He received 1 GT350 allocation.

Yesterday he had a customer come in and want to buy an R. They sat together and called a bunch of dealers. They got one bought for $20k over MSRP. Then his customer agreed to pay $5k over that.

Blows my mind.

:bs: They found him one for $20K over, and he offered an additional $5K just because? If there's any part of that story that's true, it just goes to show the stupidity of people who pay ADMs. Even if you're saying the dealer payed $20K over to get it from someplace else then charged the customer $5K on top of that, that still shows the absolute stupidity of the customer. Why couldn't he have just dealt directly with the dealer they found and saved himself $5K??

Impulse buyers tend to pay more for cars.

One of the local SVT dealers near by is discounting the 2016 GT350s already. They have 3 available.

Because he always buys from the same dealer, has for 30 years. I guess the guy has more money than God. My friend told him to contact the other dealer, but they had it on their website for $35k over. So the dealer called, and negotiated it down for the customer.

Luckily for me I don't have to be the first one on the block to have the newest toy.

I'm speechless. Just wow.

Don't cars sold in Canada have the instrumentation setup for the metric system? I wouldn't want to be doing that math all the time.

The gauge cluster in MPH is around $600. MPH is still on the cluster in Canadian cars. Just like KPH is on yours. Just smaller font.

You look at the speedometer? That's adorable!!

I called these guys a long time ago - they promised a call back with a price, never happened. I assume they are not excited by the proposition of selling to someone all the way down in Florida.....
And what would tariffs be like? Don't you have to pay a butt-ton of fees to bring it over the border???

You obviously didn't seriously look into it. There are no tarriffs/duty.

Had they bothered to return my call I may have. But in general Uncle Sam isn't a huge fan of durable goods entering the USofA without getting a tasty slice of the pie. I worked for an H-P reseller for a decade and if they shit themselves over a $300 hard drive crossing the border I don't see how a $60k car is going to just fly past with no one batting an eye. It was bad enough that we stopped doing business that needed gear to "cross" the border.

EDIT:
(without reading every word in detail) Looks to be 2.5% of paid value less $800 plus the GG tax:

From your link. The Mustang isn't "foreign made" though...

So wait. The car is taxed when it leaves the U.S. then taxed again when/if someone purchases in Canada and brings it back to the U.S.?? MAN, I need to figure out how the gubment gets away with such a scheme! Just about everything we touch gets taxed multiple times.

I'm speaking with "Clifford" at the linked dealer now. After stating I was interested in one of the GT350 allocations they have he asked me if I was looking for new or used...

Their sales manager just sent me an email...

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, our Dealer Agreement prohibits us from exporting cars outside of Canada. Ford has many dealers under scrutiny for this, so I’d rather not risk taking that chance.
