Good morning Guys....long time member, haven't posted in a while.....

So I have a 13 GT500 stock, with an oil-less filter and JLT Oil separator. Car has 9600 Miles on the clock. Just put new Tires on, went with Pirelli _ Zero Summer only 285 in the rear 275 in the front. I stepped on the car a bunch of times this morning and it just felt weak. Like the car was not pulling at the higher RPM's as it did before.

Mind you its 85 out, humid as hell and one other thing, I had only 20 ETA miles on the tank, so the light was on.

Could I just becoming desensitized to the power, or was the EPU doing something based on the low fuel?

BTW, the new tires stick like glue, or its just down in power....

Was thinking the only way to find out is to get her on a dyno soon, but I'm I walk into Alternative Auto in Michigan.....I will be walking out with a new tune for sure!!!

Thanks for your thoughts and reading....
Tom

I'd be pretty surprised if a stock car was sticking like glue with P-Zero Summer Tires. My stock car would light up anything but Drag Radials straight through 2nd gear on the street.

The heat is definitely a factory but the 13/14s don't suffer the same awful fate as the earlier cars. I'd disconnect the battery and do a reset, put some fresh gas in the car, and see what happens. Car could be pulling some timing.

That hot weather doesn't help much, I know my car isn't a happy camper in AZ with the heat. And it's possible the clutch might be starting to slip, but I wouldn't jump to that.

Took her out and did some runs. I think, bad gas + heat made it feel that way. Completely different car now and its 95 out now. Mind you it doesn't feel the same way as it does when its 60 but still feels better.

Although, I'm thinking I still want Baseline readings and get a tune.....hell its out of warranty anyway!!

Thanks Guys!

Glade to hear its running better, I didn't think it was the clutch, but its always a possibility

Always good when its a cheap fix! Definitely agreed on it not running like when its 60* but 600hp instead of 662 is still pretty fun!

Sounds like you are bent on getting a tune. Nothing wrong with that, you will be surprised at how much power is just lying there. My point, get the 13-5 or 13-6 kit from Revan Racing. Call Van, he personally will answer any and all questions, about getting where you want to be on power. I recommend Van, because that is the kit I bought and am 100% with the results.
I have heard the same good reports from VMP and BJ, but I cannot personally rate them.

I was really amazed on how heat soaked it got so quickly. With these temps, the tires really do hook up nicely. A little spin, but not blowing them off. Its 92 here in MI today with humidity somewhere in the hell range! Ready for fall....Thanks

I'm really getting tempted lately. My 03 Cobra had some nice mods, nothing crazy, but still got to play with the car. Not sure I enjoy owning a stock car! I do have my 75 Corvette I can play with, but that opens a whole other can of worms.

Yesterday I settled for changing my buddy's sons starter and PCV valve on a 2000 Taurus. Got to wrench on something

After I installed the JLT cold air and larger throttle body and 91 octane tune, I find the performance is less susceptible to the hot weather.

Took her out again today and feels super weak. What I noticed is its only getting 9psi in 1st gear. Checked the belt and it looks OK and has good tension.

THoughtgs?
