Yes I've driven from stock to whipple. Really the only thing that turns me off on the 07-09 are the wheels which could be changed, and the two piece drive shaft. I've contemplated what the OP has before but think I'd regret it. If it wasn't a 13-14.

never had any issues with my driveshaft. is that more of an issue if you have big power? i did replace it however with a 1 piece aluminum one since i got one for cheap.

I'm not sure man. I thought they say when you get in the upper 500's to replace. I know I would want a one piece for cheap insurance at that power level.
I've contemplated but think I'd regret it lol the terminator was my dream car in HS. Now maybe someday I'll change my mind. I know i fit better in an S-197 being 6ft 5 lol.

hmmm..maybe with sticky tires on a prepped surface (strip). i dont think its a common mod. most people i have asked still have stockers. even those with tvs swapped cars

Maybe I figured most with swapped blowers would have swapped the drive shaft.

not SLOW but not fast by todays standards. same as a gt500. both feel equally slow in stock form (pre 13/14). ...

I think you mean '07-'09. My '11 definitely didn't feel slow when it was stock. Remember, the '07-'09 came with a 3.31 ring gear. That definitely made them feel slow. I drove a new '09 and was not impressed by the giddy-up.

Now granted, I do like the looks of the terminator over an 07-09 shelby....but there's is nothing wrong with those cars. They aren't "plush" at all, and are still relatively "raw" to drive versus some of the newer stangs. I've drag raced my buddy's 08 with pulley and 20" true forged rims many times....it is absolutely fun to drive. He has a 2.3 tvs, id1050s, and a plug n play boost a pump waiting to go on E85...and an 04sleeper tune. I expect big things out of that car and am looking forward to the transformation. And the d/s is stock lol...we'll see if it holds up. Should get right at 700 wheel

Road test the GT-500 and see if you like it, that said I would keep the Cobra

OP, also keep in mind that, yes, the "Terminator" was only made for 2 years, BUT they made over 20,000 of them. That's almost as many as the '11 thru '14 GT500! So don't let it's perceived rarity sway you. Nothing could be farther from the truth. There were actually more '03 Cobras than there were '11 GT500s produced.

And for whatever reason, that's not keeping their value. Terminators stood their ground for years with zero competition. That, in the long run, will be regarded higher. It's a better story, and will be talked about more.

The 03/04's definitely had a big down curve. I believe the reason they are going up now is that all the kids (like me) that lasted over them in 03 can finally afford one.

Yeah I sold mine before this uptick in value. IMO they are over priced now.

Yeah. For a while, you could find good '03/'04 Cobras down in the teens. Then somewhere, somehow insanity ensued and the prices went up into the 20s. Somebody either here or on Craig's list was trying to sell one for $28K!! That's getting too close to '07 GT500 money.

One good thing, though, is that as long as the crazy people keep overpaying for '03/'04 Cobras, that'll guarantee GT500 prices will stay up. A person would have to be retarded to pay more for a Cobra than for (or even as much as) a GT500.

LOL, too late. They've already "crossed" price paths or are damn close, the 07-09s have dropped quite a bit the last 2 years. I see no correlation why rising terminator prices are going to prop up 07 gt500 prices....the story behind the two cars is quite a bit different and people still desire that new edge body shape over the retro shelby.
