damn man thats weird. A grind that only shows up at speed is odd. Cant think of what would cause that. Rotors rusty? Thinking that would burn off quick though.

They are already cleared off, I guess when I get light before work tomorrow I'll jack it up and check it because it's a odd sound for a newly rebuilt hub

Ya maybe you can figure it out just spinning it with no engine/road noise. It should be making noise all the time.

Installed some new front rotors and pads...awaiting spring to hit the northeast!

Went for my first cruise of the season yesterday evening. I seriously love this car, so fun to drive. I know it's mentioned a lot on here but it seems every time I take the cobra for a cruise some D-bag at a stop light is pimpin me to race in a crappy civic with a grapefruit shooter exhaust.

I never get anyone messing with other than trucks. I did have kid in a civic with his girl wanting to race. He claimed 450fwhp. At a light he was bouncing it off the rev limiter and took off. I said fine as he jumped 2 cars on me, short shifted into 2nd, put both hands on the wheel and let it eat. Reeled him in and next thing I know I'm at nearly 80mph in a 35!.

started pulling the diff pumpkin this weekend because i think the pinion bearing is shot - it's really starting to howl and leaking a bit too.

currently it has 4.10s, but i think i am going to reinstall the 3.55s, or maybe go with 3.73s. it's a little too deep for daily driving on the highway.

also, this time instead of removing the hub/knuckle itself, i'm going to try to swing it up out of the way of the halfshaft. that way i don't have to mess with the brakes or the upper alignment cam bolt at all. i did it this way once a long time ago and it worked - hopefully they'll press out easily on this car.

edit: also going to see if autotech (the makers of wavetrac diffs) can take a look at it and adjust it if necessary. it feels like one side does not grab as much as the other, and also will do a "one-wheel peel" if i go up a driveway at an angle. it's not supposed to do that.

they sell it with a limited lifetime warranty and i hope they honor that. it was a very expensive unit.

Curious as to what you find. I suspect my pinion might be the culprit to some noise as well. Kind of tough to narrow down even with a stethoscope. Think I'll probably end up rebearing it anyway, not really that expensive, just a pain.

yeah definitely. i don't have the tools to set up my own gears (hopefully someday), so i bring the pumpkin to a pro shop that specializes in gears. i will post up what they say. i got about 35k out of this setup, so overall i'm pretty happy

Which car Chris? When I pulled mine to do the FRPP cover my cams were already marked. I actually left the axles attached to the hub. Used extra stands to support them.
