100,000 hondas to 30,000 f150s, 3-1. I'll take those odds as I drive neither ;) hahahahahaha

I think its the entire F-series, not just the 150. Some of the older super dutys were incredibly easy to steal.

A lot of the older hondas had like 5 keys, and they were all very similar. 1 Key pattern could be coerced into working in most, if not all, of the others.

My how times have changed lol.

My friend had an old K-10 he could turn on and remove the key and it would continue running.

Had a guy in my neighborhood tell me he could start my car with his key. I was LMAO until he got into my car and started it with the key to HIS car. I had a 92 Accord at the time. From that point I was just waiting for the day I woke up to my car being gone, not meaning he would steal it but someone else that knew this was possible.

I didn't believe it either until a couple friends showed me.

We've had that law in Colorado for some time now. If you have a remote start on the vehicle that keeps it locked while it's warming up, you're in the clear.

FWIW if you start your car and leave it running unattended without some sort of theft prevention system also active, your insurance carrier will likely deny the claim. This is known as non-mitigation of risk. You knowingly placed your property in a position to be stolen and thereby forfeit your claim against the insurer because of that. I'm sure this isn't true for 100% of policies, but the majority that I've ever seen include clauses for such things.

Same thing with leaving your windows down and your case of CD's sitting on the front seat.

Mine doesn't have remote start but it does have the smart key so I can go outside and start car then get out and lock doors with key fob..

Stealing cars being "warmed up and unlocked" is pretty common in the Detroit metro area. Criminals, usually kids, just walk around the neighborhoods looking for cars running in driveway. Another common one is people pull up to a party store, jump out and leave their car running to get packs of smokes or beer, and as soon as they're inside the store, their car is stolen. Criminals just hang these places knowing they've got a good chance for an easy steal.

Someone hit and ran my car in a parking lot while I was inside. The incident is on video and the store has the customer info when they checked out and the police refused to even file a report because the store is considered private property. The police are the only people Walgreens will release the customers info to so I'm screwed paying a $1,000 deductible for doing nothing wrong. I'm so glad they have the time for this b.s. though.

I'm certain if you got a lawyer to file charges and a subpoena, they would turn over the information.

Was he parked inside his home driveway or outside driveway?

You guys think this is bad? We as in LA, can’t park outside our own driveway or block it, even if its outside our property or cars.

Yup, I'm working on it. I get Walgreens not giving out customer info, that makes sense. It makes absolutely no sense that the police refuse to do anything about it.

And this is where you turn over the info you have to your insurance agent and let them handle the rest.

This is what you pay them for, let them earn it for once by going to both Walgreens and the police To get the other parties info and file a claim.
