I am using Scottrade have been pretty happy with it. you should go look at the Stock pick thread if you are interested in starting up ... lots of good info on trading platforms. a lot of guy there are pretty close to day traders so tread lightly if looking for investment advice. and do your research.

ya but good luck finding info on trading platforms in a 300 page thread lol.

Nerd wallet (first google search result) likes TD ameritrade for their platforms and for beginners, but they have higher fees.

Unless you have a personal attachment to Ford, or any of the non-Tesla auto stocks for that matter (which is your prerogative), there are MUCH better places to put your money right now.

We are entering the backside of a cyclical industry. There could easily be continued downward movement for the foreseeable future. No real valid investment reason to tie up your cash in one of these companies right now.

I'm a F buyer in the $9-10 range.

Not necessarily looking at Ford specifically, I've wanted to start buying stocks for a long time.

This.

I sold all my automotive stock a few months ago when I heard Ford was idling plants.

Pretty much all of my stocks are very slow, very stable companies that pay dividends.

Never invested before, but 10 shares of Ford look swell right now. And if it drops further, an even better time to buy.

Ford isnt going anywhere, and with a low stock price its a great time to become an investor in a company i love.

To Jim Hackett: Don't go spending my $100 all in one place now :D

I'm not sure if it was posted in here but apparently Fields going away has more to do with what Wall street values the company vs making money.

They had 10B/year profit over the last 3 years but Wall street wants to see more tech and automation. Hence the reason Tesla is so painfully over rated right now vs what they actually make.

There is a ton of money out there to be made with all this new fancy tech but no one has figured it out yet.

That thinking is good for investors. Tesla stock is waaayyyyy over rated. Their cars are advanced but suffer from short range, technical glitches and spotty build quality.

Great time to buy Ford stock. What's the saying? Buy low, sell high?

And their factories have the highest accident rate in the industry.

I'd say of any maker, tesla aside, Ford is the most advanced with technology. They do need to get their In Car Entertainment better though.

Tesla almost seems like a tech company whos end product is a car, but has mo car build8ng experience. Hope they have great insurance and benefits for their plant workers

I thought people liked sync 3, especially with car play and android auto.
