According to a review on Tire Rack:

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Eagle+F1+Supercar+3

Tires usually do make a huge difference in a car's performance, but I think it's being overstated in this case. The MPSC2 has been on the market for a long time. Goodyear's F1 Supercar 3 tire is brand new. No doubt it has more modern materials, technology and construction. It might very well be nearly or just as good as the MPSC2.

So can we put the tire debate to bed and focus on the many other aspects of these two cars that would put them so close to each other?

Yea, because a random tire review on a website, where a guy says "gives cup2 run for the money", WITHOUT ANY ACTUAL TEST DATA, constitutes law.

You guys crack me up.

However you want to slice it, it's not just the tires that put the FAR less powerful R right next to the almighty ZL1 around a short track. And it's not even a technical track at that.

We'll show us your test data.

That's right you're never wrong...you don't need data.

I'm still waiting on your explanation why gm chose the so called slower tire.

You should have been asking that to Ford when they chose the cup2s vs the old z28 trofeos.

At least GM makes sense, cause you know the regular ZL1 is not their ALL out track car like the R is.

EXACTLY. There are many things that give the R an edge, yet all we've heard from you has been the crying and complaining of the ZL1's more powerful motor.

Both manufactures picked how they would build their cars, it just so happens that Ford lost and now you are upset about it.

I told you why ford chose cup 2 instead of Trofeo. The cup 2 last longer and are better in the rain. The cup 2 is more a daily drive tire the Trofeo more race.

But evidently you don't listen to me.

Look man, BOTTOM LINE.

ZL1 beats it in the price department.
ZL1 beats it in the 1/4.
ZL1 beats it in the road course.
ZL1 beats in in highway.

Let that sink in....

Price is the same. Want is greater with the 350.
ZL1 wins the 1/4
350 wins the road course just as a gt3 or GT4 would also. Honestly the ss 1le is better on track.
Zl1 does win highway.

Cool

Ha hahahhahaha. .4 seconds at big willow, with 650hp? Vs 526? And it's the better "handling" (grip is what everybody means. Whatever)

Let's do like Ross Perot.

Here's the pictures to make this easier.

BIG WILLOW. (BBBIIIGGG)

A technical momentum track (fair comparison)

Mazda raceway leguna seca

Big willow looks like a giant oval converted to have a few turns. Leguna seca? My money is on the gt350r having a faster hero lap by half a second, car vs car, driver/conditions same day bla bla scientific as possible.

5 lap average? The gt350r by 5 seconds+. Just my opinion.

And no, I'm not going to bother saying throw them on a technical circuit because the gt350r already won their. In the figure 8 test it was .1 faster than the zl1, and "tied" the auto zl1

Keep in mind when Randy Phobst drive the auto vs the manual zl1, he was quicker in the manual car. Not talking shit on the figure 8 driver, but I think the gt350r had more in it with more time to learn the transmissions mojo. There is a lot to be said for getting a real feel for a manual car. Autos are much easier to hop in and go fast with on day one. Ask any racer.

^ to give me 11's, that post reads like democrat math to me. Feel free to try and correct me if you feel I'm wrong...

My point: there's some roughness in the ride, there's not a back seat (on that particular car, it's an option), etc.

Democrat reaction: ban the R, it's going to kill someone.
