For those of us who live in California......why don't we leave?

In the Tesla thread, Kingblack brought up a great question for those of us who reside in California:

why dont you just leave California?

Great question. I have asked myself this many, many times. I mean, Cali has changed SO much since I was in high school/college that it is nearly unrecognizable to me and my family/friends any longer due to the liberal infestation that has taken over.

So WHY don't I leave a place that has so many things that I hate and despise, like: Liberal cockroaches whining constantly about every little 'unfair' thing or 'injustice' that occurs, the horrifyingly idiotic and blatantly corrupt liberal politicians (gay davis, moonbeam, maxine waters, pelosi, feinstein, harris, etc.) that have not only taxed us to oblivion, but have allowed illegals to mooch off us taxpayers for free for most of my lifetime, turned beautiful neighborhoods i grew up around into section 8 shitholes permeated by gangbangers and worthless ****s, and seem hellbent on turning this ENTIRE state into a "sanctuary city" blueprint?

In one word: Family.

I come from a big close knit family and am the oldest of 3 brothers who are my best friends. I traveled the world for a year and half straight and really missed the hell out of them. I spent another 2 years in Florida after that and realized that I'm just not as happy without them. Yes, sucks for me.

I still hold out a little bit of hope here in San Diego because we still have a strong conservative presence and recently elected a Republican mayor. Also hoping that Trump unleashing ICE here will clean San Diego up even more.....fingers crossed.

But I'm looking to eventually leave if things get worse instead of better. My father already said '**** this' and sold his business for a healthy profit and settled in Sedona, AZ where he bought 2 houses for cash and rents one out to a nice family for a little monthly income on top his retirement fund. I'd probably go there, since its beautiful, I could buy a house with cash, and has a climate that is closest to Cali's. **** those Scorpions, though......then again, i deal with those in the form of politicians here.

So lets hear it, Cali folks-Why do you stay here when you KNOW we're most likely ****ed?

TL;DR-Why are you still here in Cali?

At least you're in San Diego...wow that's a beautiful place.

Yeah, that is the ONE silver lining to being in Cali.....then I read that the City Council had a meeting yesterday to 'Battle the housing crisis of poor people being priced out of San Diego' by building more "affordable" (See: Hellhole section 8 housing for welfare moochers) housing for those who can't afford to live here.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

How about this: Work your ****ing ASS off, get a legitimate education at a trade school or degree that is useful toward a career, and be a productive member of society so that you can AFFORD to live in a (mostly) great place like this.

I hope to hell it gets shot down. I see more ruined neighborhoods in the near future if this shit goes through.

My wife's brother lives in Serrano heights Orange Ca. and I bust him all the time about getting out. He has a few years left with Boeing but his wife is from California. He tells me that Arizona will be the place that they will be going. I said great and I will visit you out there one day. Not interested in going back to Cali. Been out there many times when it was better in the 80's and 90's.

You Californians just stop ****ing moving to SLC. That's all I ask. 50,000 of you projected to move to the valley within the next 18 months. This "Silicone Slopes" bullshit is killing me. Traffic is becoming a nightmare.

Not there now but lived there over 30 years, 1963-1994. Back then it was a nice place with a lot going for it. Close to the beach, close to the mountains, close to the desert to go out and shoot up the place. Now there is no way in heck I could live there if for no other reason my guns would make me a felon. It is too bad that it went down the toilet like it has but I see no way it will change in my lifetime.

Now you're just being silly.

Expecting lowlife scum mooches to get an education and work. That's funny.
In my shithole state of MA the average person on welfare gets over 40k a year in benefits. Why would they make an effort and go to work.

Same reasons I won't leave NY. It's my home and I love it. All my family is here, my career is here and I have my own 10 acre slice of heaven here. Luckily I'm surrounded by like minded, freedom loving folks. It's the liberal urban death maze that gives this state a bad name.

Same reason I don't live this hell hole of a state, most likely. Once you have ties to an area, it's hard to leave. I'd love to.....LOVE TO....move to another state. Long story short, I have other things in my life that are more critical than where I live.

I won't leave till I retire so I can take my money with me. I have other financial means in place in case my pension doesn't work out (due to govt failure, etc), but there's a 90% pension waiting for me at the end of my career if I stick it out the next 20 years. I'm okay with this. Doing the same job in another state is about 1/2 to 1/3 of the pay I earn now.

OP pretty much nailed it though. Family is a big motivator. I also miss living near the ocean so it's possible I'll get sucked back to the Central Coast and live out my days near the beach.

Back in the USA!
For those with close family in southern CA, move to AZ. A visit is only a 6 hour drive or 1 hour flight from Phoenix. Cost of living here is good, city is growing, housing is affordable and we are among the most gun friendly states. Don't even have to have a permit to CC! But if you want to come here and slowly turn this state into CA kindly **** off. We have too many CA liberal transplants that are trying to ruin this place by demanding policy that turned CA to shit.

That is the problem with the border states. You can what has happened in Washington and Oregon with the transplants from the PRK. Only a matter of time till they get into Arizona and Nevada. I think Idaho would be to cold for them.
