American Muscle isn't too bad. 170 miles. I've driven to Malvern from Cheshire a few times. If you've never been to their annual Show, it's well worth the drive. They really put on a great venue. Highly recommended. You going to Mustang Week?

I admire your attention to detail, Michael. Meticulous! That brake setup is really nice. Great work!

Thanks Cobra Bob, I appreciate it! I've been going to the AM show since it was a 100 car show at their warehouse in Malvern, but I've missed the last 2 years due to the car being apart this past year, and wedding things 2 years ago. My inlaws are from that area, so I've been many times.

No, I won't be going to Mustang Week. Way too far of a drive in this car as modified as it is. Maybe in the future when I have the use of a trailer and more free time!

Nothing like a long road trip to force you to sort out any little issues, took mine from Ontario down to Tail of the Dragon and back last summer, brought to light a few areas that needed to be addressed. Was pretty amazing, and most of it is light throttle highway so minimal stress.

Yea I definitely want to take the car on a nice long drive, but I'm still working out all the kinks from the swap. I also had an interesting coolant leak coming from around the the header core tubes that come out of the firewall, so that might be a thing :(

UPDATE:

Many small details are being ironed out on these brakes before I take it on the maiden voyage, but they are on! Currently I am using a 3/8" spacer in front to space the wheels away from the caliper, and even though it clears, it's a little close for comfort. I ordered a paid of MM 1/2" hubcentric spacers that should be here today. That'll give me roughly .200"-.250" clearance between the caliper face and the wheel.

After creating a checklist of what's left to get it on the road, I started chipping away at it...

Brakes and lines fully installed:

Nasty brake fluid that I completely flushed out of the car, and ran all new Dot 4 synthetic fluid:

Then I tried to come up with a solution to replace the zipties that currently hold my brake lines in place:

I came up with these brackets using p-clips and some flat stock scrap I had laying around:

Unfortunately I melted all the rubber off the clips and they are ugly. Even though they are completely covered and will never be seen by anyone, I'm not happy with them. I'm going to draw up a DXF file of the brackets I'd like to have, and see if I can get them laser cut, and I'll bend them and put isolator bushings inside for the brake line to sit in. OCD; I know...

Wouldn't expect anything less! Attention to detail on this build has been fun to watch. Again, car just keeps getting cooler.

UPDATE: Brakes are completely done and work amazing!

After well over 100 hours of development, sleepless nights, and countless Summit orders, everything is working as it should!

I swapped out the 3/8" spacers for some MM 1/2" hubcentric in the front to give me a slight bit more clearance between the caliper and the wheel:

Clearance is now about 1/4"

Tire sits dead flush with the fender (which was a concern with these spacers, but ended up PERFECT

While I had the front suspension apart, I slightly corrected my sway bar angle. I had installed 1" spacer blocks that you need to use in order the Steeda sway bar on a Cobra because of the clearance with the lower rad hose.

What I didn't do was correct the length of the sway bar end links. I was wondering why it hung so low and whacked literally everything...

So I cut an inch off the middle sleeve, and swapped out the 7" bolts for 6" bolts:

I took it out last night for a quick spin to see how the pedal felt, but really took it for a nice cruise today at lunch...

Overall impressions so far are excellent. I'm still bedding the pads, and I think they need to be bled a bit more, now that the fluid has had some more motion through the calipers/lines. I did not buy super aggressive pads because I didn't want to deal with massive amounts of dust, but the more I drive it, the better the brakes get!

Can't see photos anymore, but I bet it's good.
Yea I need to rehost the 700 photos again, but its such a daunting task that I haven't even thought about doing it.

Yea its a damn shame about photobucket. Wanted to look at some porn, but I guess xvideos dot com it is for me tonight....
Hahah yea trust me, it's going to take a decade to fix all the photos :(

Found you on IG, what is it with you CT boys and these crazy detailed builds. I want to add a cluster to my 03 TT Mach 1 so I can really see what my engine is doing. These dummy gauges ain't cutting it.
