Q-Codes are a lot rarer than the R codes. I would modify it in a way that you can return it back to stock if need be. You should post pictures of it!
This. I have a real '66 GT350H that'll have a restoration done where everything will be modernized but all mods will carefully be done so that it can go back to stock easily if wanting to sell.
Example: modern EFI with carb style intake and air cleaner. Built 363 solid roller over 289 flat tappet cam.
I'm 37 and wouldn't enjoy it 100% stock but I want it visually stock.
Actually hoping a T5 can easily replace the stock C4 ( most H cars were auto).
Either way, '69 my favorite body, let's see some pics!

J - the T-5 is a bolt in. Zero cutting needed. Same for an Astro A5 :).

OP - as long as the visible mods can be easily reversed the value of the car will be safe. You mentioned 5-lug conversion...all 69's were 5-lug. Sounds like a great car. Post the dang pics - folks are getting restless!

I vote a gear vendors overdrive. It'll really help the driveability out and keep you from making your ears bleed on the highway.

Ohhhhhh I hadn't even thought of that! :)

I gotcha, a modernized version of the baddest looking Mustang ever built!
What color is it?

Jet Black with red reflective striping. I need to do some polishing, but you can tell that this was a 5-figure paint job.

Pics! The blue tape is where the windows don't line up perfectly- wanted to seal it decently during the wash.

The window needs a slight alignment fix but it feels like the glue is holding up well on the track. Regulator is smooth, no issues there.

You bring up a good point there... I need to look into that more- I may have been mistaken.

Looks good but Wheel Vintiques makes some sweet 17" Magnum 500s. We can't let those current wheels remain right? :)

I do love a good set of Magnum 500's... Maybe if some of my Armslist items sell I'll toss a set on. I never feel guilty spending "recycled" funds. :)

IMO the wheels are hideous. 17" Magnum 500s, do it! Looks amazing otherwise!

I'd say do some undercover mods. An EFI system, better heads, bolt-in suspension upgrades if they haven't been done. For gauges, get a Shelby center console with the gauges up front.

If you put A pillar pods and a blower through the hood on that car I'll fly to SC myself and kick you in the groin.

It depends on the car to be honest. Sometimes modern TLC makes old cars better but a lot of the time it makes them worse. IMO the best mods on old cars retain the look but improve drive-ability. Having a blower sticking through the hood only to get destroyed by a soccer mom in modern car makes those cars a joke IMO. Don't make them something they aren't.

I see it with the Lincoln community all the time. People put these super high horsepower motors and loud exhaust in them and that defeats the purpose of a silky smooth cruiser. You end up with a big, heavy car that handles like a water bed, is obnoxiously loud, and isn't any faster than a stock Camry. Those mods ruin everything that makes that car great.

I'd deserve it too! I was just using it as an extreme example. Don't worry- I'm not going to do that.

I've thought about that, but I keep coming back to just wanting a show car with good driver characteristics. It's also an insurance policy in case something bad ever happens- I can sell it for recovery quicker if it's not modded to hell and back.
