It’s brakes, and you’re wrong if you think it’s okay.

Lol finally.

Never said it was right.
But don’t care. It’s my accepted risk in life. As stated I do not do it when someone else could be involved.

Um, lol. So are the others around you when you do it? I don’t believe you make sure “the coast is clear “ bullshit. I can see this being moved with me hand picking your posts.

Read above.
There might be someone behind me and by that I mean at least a 100yds.
Never when someone is coming towards me. Never in a city. Never in 4 lane when I’m surrounded.
Sure like most have said I will glance at it when it chimes. But won’t touch till it’s safe to do so.

I’m not lying about it. Just telling the truth most times that is harder to take.
Move if you want my stance won’t change.

Sorry for upsetting you brad.
I think perspective has a lot to do with it. Some of the roads I drive on you can drive for an hour and meet 2 cars. It’s a lot different when I’m in populated areas.

I won’t touch my phone period when driving. I guess that comes from 2 million miles driving a large truck. Yes 2 million miles.

That’s a lot of pavement pounding.

Ironically the jobs I’ve had where I drive large trucks. I was never bothered by dispatch and would usually just give it the glance if it went off. Never responded to anything though. But the stops I made were consistent and the same almost every day so there was no reason to respond. Also. 62 tons is 62 tons.

Texting while driving is against the law here, but it doesn't stop people. I see it all the time, numerous times every day. Just like speeders, they think they will never get caught.

Appreciate the thoughts. And yes 3rd.

But as I mentioned it is a quick response and as limited time wise as it can be. I never do it in a situation that could end up out of control. Weather included in that.

All it takes is a split second.

This isn't SD.

I enjoy the people who don't even bother trying to hide that they are texting, holding the phone above the steering wheel.

Both hands on the phone too, with their forearms on the wheel.

Suddenly auto-driving vehicles are sounding better and better! But we're not yet close to it becoming a national reality.

You sure about this after what happened with the Uber auto-driving car?

Agree. People these days cannot be without their dang phone for 30 seconds. It’s no wonder they walk into man holes or whatever. Here it is illegal to use a phone while driving. But how do you enforce it? A cop has to see to do anything which rarely happens.
I've seen a cop texting and driving.

Have you read all of my responses?
Do you change radio stations or adjust volume cause that takes a split second too.
I don't need to look at the stereo to change the song. I use my iPod in my cars & either steering wheel controls or within arms reach or remote.

Oh my bad your the never distracted ever driver with hands at 9 and 3, never adjusts the hvac system, never takes a drink of anything ever(and god forbid it has a cap on it cause that takes a lot of effort two hands or both legs and a hand), also never ever eats anything because food comes in wrappers that take two hands to get into, never looks out the side window(while taking his eyes off the road in front of him) at another motorist to see if he can have the mental moral high ground because that person is distracted driving in some way, and never ever under any circumstance does he look at a road sign, advertisement, or GPS screen because he always know where he is going and whats for sale at all times because only morons don't know that anything can happen in a split second......please we all drive distracted, and we all choose the accepted level of risk to us.

When I lived in CT, I had a 12 minute commute on i395 at 5AM, so if I saw 3 vehicles total it was a surprise. Never had these issues there.

When I moved down here, I had a 45 minute commute. I tend to be overly observant, and I can say with certainty that it didn't seem to get unbearable down here until the past 4-5 years. Now it's like 3 out of every 4 drivers are distracted and in the wrong lane.

I now have a 3 minute commute to work- bought my current house so I wouldn't have to deal with as many idiots on the road. I still have to drive in the gutter 3-4 times a week due to morons blazing through on the wrong side of the road.

Look, stop trying to deflect & justify your behavior. Just admit you're wrong.

Have you considered the bus? Not kidding my brother in law lives a 10 minute drive from his job in Calgary, but because of all the tard's in the city, he just uses PT. He actually gets a kick out of it because he gets to lay witness to some really interesting events LOL

There's no bus route where I live. I'm sitting at my kitchen table looking out the window (home sick with the flu) and can see the building I work in through the woods.
