I mean, I like them. I really do. I loved the HC when it came out.

But I genuinely can't get behind this car. At the 90k+ price tag I feel like there are better cars out there that can do a lot more than just go straight really fast.

Then it’s not the car for you brotha. Nothing wrong with that. But for guys who want a turn key, 9 second street legal car, with a warranty, here you go.

Why not just a Hellcat and save LOTS of money?

again with this argument.

Why not just buy a Fox, put a LS in it, with turbos, and go faster than that for cheaper?

We can do this all day.....none of which will change the end result, people spend their money how they see fit. The end.

That's aside from the fact the Hellcat will not run 9s without having potential warranty concerns. Demon will.

So there's that.

Stock, lightly modified, heavily modified...... does it really matter? 9.31 at almost 150 is 8 second power and thats moving!

The thing weighs like 4500 lbs with driver and just went almost 150 mph! Thats gotta be close to a 1000 hp to the wheels and he drove it to the track and drove it home. No trailer! How many cars going to the ANY track ANYWHERE running low 9's making 8 second power then drive home?

Pulley, injectors, tune, tires & midpipe. There aren't many cars which will run low 9's with $3K in mods.
@Zemedici correct me if Im wrong but aren't Hellcats getting into the mid to low 9s with $3-4K in mods?

I know there are a handful of Hellcats that have broken 150mph with the A8 transmission

No sir. Low 10s maybe, but it usually takes E85 or Nitrous to run low - mid 9s. Our fuel system / Full Fore system is required for E85. Cole's car went low 9s boost only, but his car has had some decent work done to it.

Stock motor / trans though!

Where do you get these horsepower analogies?

You cannot get close to determining what a car makes for power by its ET....there's 250 factors that come into play. Suspension / tire / etc etc

There's cars in NMRA that run 10s NA, with sub 500whp.

Who said anything about using ET only. And even if ET was the only thing used it would still come out the same bro its simple math.... a 4500 lb car going 150 mph needs 1170 hp to do so. It aint rocket science bro! THAT is 8 second power. What part of that do u not understand?

Where do you get this math from?

And how do you explain Cole's Hellcat running 9.1X With 200+ whp less than your projection?

1.32 60' 9.31@149 by SRTMush

He probably paid $93k OTD. I paid $97k OTD same state as SRT Mush but mine had full red leather seats, premium sound and the storage kit.
Thanks! I am SO happy that the record SRTMush smashed was Hennessey. LOL.

There are calculators all over the web that are used to give an estimate of horsepower. I haven't plugged in data that hasn't been far off yet that I have a dyno'd # for and actual 1/4 mile run. It's physics. Let me know if you find a car that this calculator doesn't show a close MPH. (Wheel HP seems to be more consistent than Engine HP).

I did

Cole's Hellcat - Car's still stock blower.....no nitrous

4000lbs

900whp (estimating HIGH)

According to your link, it says 9.37 @ 142

Am I missing something here or......?

There are some decent estimators out there by this ain’t one of them.

Wheel and Crank projections are backwards to start with....

ET calc isn’t even close.

I wouldn't count out the calculators so quickly although you have a great example of where it's a good bit off (8 mph). I've had it be pretty close many times. I read in a forum that Cole didn't believe the dyno numbers the car generated.

It works out well with a stock Hellcat Charger as another example. 4700lbs, 668hp @ the wheels, 122mph 1/4 mile which is +/- 2 mph from many slips I've seen.

The link I provided isn't one I've used before so it may have flaws (and it seems that it does as flywheel vs. rear wheel don't match up). Irregardless there is a calculation that can be performed that gets you in the ballpark.

That's damn fast. I don't even mind that it has larger mudflaps than my pickup truck.

Bro its a simple weight/distance/time calculation. Use any HP calculator. U can do it by ET or MPH but the Weight/ MPH don't lie.... Its dead nuts kinda like Vascar when performing speed enforcement. Its more accurate then Laser.
