In regard to Theology, this could be a play on words. I did study Apologetics, which is the defense of Christian doctrine. Without going into detail, the word "apologetic" in Greek means "to speak in defense".

What made this class so interesting for me is that my professor had previously taught Law and Political Science. That man was brutal, but I learned a lot.
