I’d love to come down to mustang week if it stays in MB. I wouldn’t want to see it anywhere else. Sorry but I’m not going to the Midwest ever. Let alone for just a big car show. I could do a week in MB, a few days of beach and golf and the cheesy scenery. Not Many other places I would want to go can provide enough of the extracurricular entertainment to justify attending.

I am leaning heavily toward saving my gas money. I keep hearing stories and seeing videos. The police and city are making a loud and clear statement this year. I can't afford a ticket because my car is loud, or because I had to rev match and down shift.

Tough decision. I'm not sure if I am brave enough to push my luck.

I wouldn't worry about it man. Today at the Bass Fishing / Hooters parking lot a little gathering of Mustangs turned into a full the **** on meet / show haha. Hundreds of cars and probably well into 1000 people. Went on probably over an hour and a half, full of the normal pull out shenanigans, before the cops showed up.

They seemed to be letting things go on since I went cruising for a bit and everyone was still there when I got back. Just with a few of SCs finest keeping an eye on things.

Hell those were the only cops I saw for about 3 hours cruising around there.

Just don't do the wrong thing at the wrong time and you'll be good.

its not that the MBPD let it go on, it was that you were out of the city limits.

Who cares who allowed the meet to continue. It was allowed to go on. Or at the very least wasn't some hulk smash cop fest like social media would make you think.

Let me put it into perspective.

Myrtle Beach is the equivalent of a shitty half ass attempt at a Carnival. Just because it's a Carnival, people come to it. Not because it's good, but because it says "Carnival" above the front gate. So people show up, they come, it sucks, and despite this, people still come after.

Saying they are going to lose money if MW leaves is like saying they are going to lose money at the carnival over one bus full of kids.

MW is a drop in the hat, and they don't care or want it there. They want to enjoy the crappy beaches, gimmicks, and fair signs all to themselves.

Glad I'm not the only one who sees the city as a shithole. It's Gatlinburg with a shitty beach. Hell, I would rather enjoy the moutains than a shitty beach.

I'm at a loss on the amount of people who go to Myrtle Beach every year as their family vacation. WTF?

It's all about location. The MBPD has been the agency getting all the attention. State and County are all you're dealing with at Hooters.

There's a bunch of reasons. MB is not really the best at any one thing, but they have a little bit of everything.

Totally understand that the jurisdictions are different. The staties could have come in nuts swinging though and that just wasn't the case. Also, I got the same Ocean blvd room as last year. I haven't seen anywhere near as many foot, bike, or golf cart MBPD chasing around people who use the application of their throttle a little too vigorously.

So going back to Revvs concern, I haven't seen a need for it in person.

I've gotten several calls, and watched a lot of videos this week. As much fun as Mustang Week is, it isn't worth the risk of being arrested over revving your engine and getting a reckless driving charge.

I'm not planning on going to the Midwest for a show either. I also do not drive up to the American Muscle show. Mustang Week is basically in my back yard, and I'm not ashamed to say that I am afraid of being targeted and charged with something bogus this year.

Do you not have self control? Must you instantly do a burnout when some drunken fool yells at you to do one?

I've gone to MW twice, and never been arrested. It's called don't drive like an ass. Is revving your engine or doing a second gear pull illegal? Well I'm no law expert, but with everyone saying all the cops there are complete jerks, why risk it? Just drive your car like a civic, and you'll be fine.

Exactly. I've come the last 5 years and have not *knock on wood* been given a ticket or as much as given a side eye by LEO.

See above.... You're missing out for really retarded reasoning.... No offense in that but by that reasoning you might as well just sell the car...... Since you might some day get a ticket maybe because it is kinda possible....

Well he is the owner of the forum..... So this is "his house" as such he probably would get more respect(?) than another random person posting. Even if that is not something he expects or requires...

On this specific subject.... Dude if someone is "uninformed" that if they break the law they might get penalized for it then I don't know what else to say on the subject..... And that rule of thumb gives zero shits about which jurisdiction writes the ticket lol.

Back in the day when i had my lightning, I went to MW several years in a row. Met and hung out with svtp old schoolers. It wasnt near as bad back then as it is today. You might see 1 fight or law breaking issue, but for the most part, it was a laid back fun event. Fast forward 15 years later and holy crap its turned into something to nearly be ashamed of. The problem isnt the location or the police. Myrtle Beach is an awesome place to hold MW...the problem is the morons who now fill the majority of the attendees and make the entire collective mustang owners appear to be beer drunkard raging idiots. The police presence and interactions will rise to meet the the rise in indiotic behavior. You want the police to calm the **** down? Have you tried not breaking the law? If you change locations, the morons will just go there. Change the behavior and i believe it would turn into a better event. Hell, you got honda and Chevy guys going just so they can video mustang owners acting like complete morons, then pasting those vids all over the net for the world to see. You guys give them plenty of ammo thats for sure.

Want things to change? Start with your own behavior and tell the morons to settle the **** down.

I baby my car. No abuse at all. No burnouts. However, there are people being arrested and charged for reckless driving for revving their engine. My car is loud.

No reason to go into the lion's den and tempt fate if I don't have to. There will be other shows.

At 21 yes, i'm blown away.

Per the NC guys, Charlottes a dud. But Mooresville could still work.

Atl sounds promising, since Road Atl is there along with dragstrips and space and shops.
