You appear to be underwhelmed on a daily basis, by cars that impress the rest of the world. ...

Start naming 'em. Or at least point to the posts where I said I was underwhelmed by cars that the masses love. You're never going to end your trolling jihad against me, are you? What are you even gaining from this? I give two shits what you think. So why do you persist?

You REALLY make this too easy. You know that? Good to know I got some real estate in that empty head of yours, though.

Yeah, I'm not understanding why people are freaking out over the prospect of actually towing something with an SUV. It makes zero sense, and I give zero damns what other people would think seeing me towing a boat (or anything else) with a Cayenne. The thing can be optioned with a tow hitch from the factory and the manufacturer gives it a healthy tow rating. Somehow, though, that means nothing and the vehicle shouldn't be used for towing?? It seems especially odd when most Cayennes are ordered with the trailer hitch option, even the Turbo.

Also, it's not like I'm planning on pulling a boat down to the Keys. If that's the only negative you guys can seem to latch onto, then a new Cayenne Turbo S must obviously be the perfect vehicle for our needs:

- good daily driver for the wife
- FUN TO DRIVE on road trips (Based on some of the alternatives mentioned, we obviously have different views on what "fun to drive" is.)
- luxurious (Based on some of the alternatives mentioned, we obviously have different views on what "luxurious" is.)
- can tow a decent amount of weight from time to time
- still has the "utility" in Sport Utility Vehicle
- can easily go off the beaten path every now and then
Sounds like you made up your mind and you are going with the Cayenne Turbo S, which is an excellent choice. It sounds to me you care a lot more about the overall package than the price. I think too many people are hung up on the fact that you'd be towing something with a Porsche. I know so many people who tow their Porsche GT3/GT4s to the track with a Cayenne Turbo or diesel without any issues. A boat isn't really that big of a deal. The Turbo S is engineered to tow around 7500 pounds. I think, if anything, you should get an aluminum boat trailer to get the weight down more.

I stand corrected I re skimmed the original post and saw you didn’t actually ask for advice. However you posted on an open form not only a vehicle review but perspective purchase alternatives and went into detail about what intended use was. Now you seem surprised people would give their opinions on the thread.

I can’t speak for everyone but I 100% couldn’t care less about your narrative, I gave my opinion based on my experience and that was it. At the end of the day you control what you buy so who cares what people on a forum think about you or your so called narrative?

I guess I m not seeing where he is surprised or upset by people's opinions? He clearly has stated what he is looking for yet quite a few people are focusing on 2 things only. The price of the vehicle and towing. It's fine to give your opinion on experience with towing but how many times does he have to say that isn't the main factor in his decision?

It doesn't sounds like he needs to tow often or far and it doesn't sound like money is a huge issue here. This is a situation where people need to separate their needs out of the situation when giving their opinion.

I personally am not into luxury vehicles and can't afford them anyway. Doesn't mean he is a fool for wanting one or that he should buy the vehicles I personally like. His reasons are solid for the choices he laid out. I just can't understand why this is a difficult concept for some to understand.

Ignore how you feel about him from other threads. If you can't, it is probably better to just not post. This isn't directed at my94gt btw. I simply utilized your post as a means of illustrating some of my points.

BOTH of you are spot on! Well said! Truth be told, it's not the towing that they're hung up on. I think it's pretty well established at this point what their real hangup is. They just aren't men enough to come out and say it because then they'd have to shut up and move on with their lives, knowing that it changes nothing in my life.

Nope. I’m pretty hung up on towing a cheap boat with an expensive SUV. My motives are pure.

If you upgrade your boat to something more baller, Id change my mind. Something like this:

It can also be used for fishing.

How much is that Porsche Cayenne S Turbo going to run you? I'm assuming over 100K. It's definitely worth it. It's a great vehicle, is luxurious and has some "pep". lol
Are you going to order one or by off the dealership lot?

Ive done the toyo mt's, kevlar mtr's and so far im most inpressed with the new grabber X3. its quiet, wearing great and grips beautifully
...

+1... I've had them on my tacoma for over 25k miles.
On rocky/firm soil I'd bet only Trepadors can out grip them.

He’s told before. The world is so rough and unfair to the guy that he’s considering buying a $100k Porsche.

LMAO. The definition of irony gift wrapped in hypocrisy.... gotta love it!

Now that’s a nice looking set up! Still not my personal first choice for tow vehicle but if you have the money and want a singular vehicle with good capabilities it seems it’s a stout set up at least based off their review. That towing MPG ouch, but let’s face it, if you can swing that set up the fuel is a drop in the bucket lol.

Perhaps, I missed it. But what about a Range Rover? I don't know what they can tow, but it sounds like it fits the bill.

Have you thought about a Tahoe or Yukon with a Whipple? I know it's a little bit bigger than the jeep.

Be a man for once in your miserable life and say it yourself.

According to the rep we dealt with, A Cayenne Turbo S isn't really an off-the-lot vehicle. So it'll have to be ordered. The Turbo S isn't configurable on Porsche's site yet, but the Turbo is. Configuring a Turbo to what I'd like, it's over $140K. The Turbo S will probably start somewhere around $160K. The rep said neither of them will be for sale in the States until next summer. The problem with that is the 2020 Lincoln Aviator will be hitting the market somewhere around that time. That vehicle's looks alone put up a STRONG argument despite it not really matching our parameters.

How someone so, ahem...intelligent constantly seeks advice and acceptance on a car forum?

How someone with such an ...ahem... "high IQ" is too dumb to read and comprehend that I didn't seek advice from anyone. Perhaps my original post was just too low level for you to comprehend that I was talking about not coming away impressed with my experience with a Trackhawk. If only I could get some of that "superior" brain power to make something I thought was so elementary a bit clearer for you.

I don't like Range Rovers. They have an abysmal reliability history, and they all seem to develop squat-butt as they age. I didn't consider any of the typical family haulers because 1) they aren't luxurious to me, 2) they aren't fun to drive, and 3) they're way too big.
