This must be the other thread...

I have to admit the P-car SUV’s are nice. Can’t deny the quality of the interiors and the ride quality. I just would hesitate to tow anything substantial with one unless it was some sort of emergency. Just the cost of repairing it if I broke something would scare me off.

They tow just fine. I know plenty of people who use their Cayenne to tow their GT3 to the track with an aluminum trailer. Also since it is a brand new car, I don't think he has to worry about the repair costs....

I’ve been on boats, around boats and into boats my entire life.

Never once in all my years either living in nantaskett or on cape cod have I ever seen anyone pull a boat with a Porsche.
Same thing down at the mouth of the Chesapeake. I could see if he was pulling jet skis, but bad decision making is expected out of pwc owners.

I think it would be the type of thing that we would sit around the Marina restaurant/bar and tell jokes about. It would instantly mark you as “that guy”

The main thing is, just because a vehicle can tow a specific max weight doesn’t mean you should run up against it. Always leave room for error. I once had a wire loom slip loose while towing an enclosed trailer with a Tacoma and the trailer brakes were shot as the loom drug the ground. That was a scary ride and after the I bought an F150.

Yeah, I'm not understanding why people are freaking out over the prospect of actually towing something with an SUV. It makes zero sense, and I give zero damns what other people would think seeing me towing a boat (or anything else) with a Cayenne. The thing can be optioned with a tow hitch from the factory and the manufacturer gives it a healthy tow rating. Somehow, though, that means nothing and the vehicle shouldn't be used for towing?? It seems especially odd when most Cayennes are ordered with the trailer hitch option, even the Turbo.

Also, it's not like I'm planning on pulling a boat down to the Keys. If that's the only negative you guys can seem to latch onto, then a new Cayenne Turbo S must obviously be the perfect vehicle for our needs:

- good daily driver for the wife
- FUN TO DRIVE on road trips (Based on some of the alternatives mentioned, we obviously have different views on what "fun to drive" is.)
- luxurious (Based on some of the alternatives mentioned, we obviously have different views on what "luxurious" is.)
- can tow a decent amount of weight from time to time
- still has the "utility" in Sport Utility Vehicle
- can easily go off the beaten path every now and then

-your wife flat out said she loved the raptor. yet YOU say the porsche is better
-who cares about " fun to drive" on a road trip. The last thing I do when I'm out of state is do " fun" things in a daily
- the luxurious is just you... you want the "show off" we get it.
- truck can out tow it
- by utility you mean it has the same room as an explorer in the back
- sure it can go off the beaten path... but who wants their porsche to have rock chips, scrapes, wood cuts on it

Flat out fact is... it's obvious you want to buy it so you can say you did.. EVEN THOUGH your wife liked another option more.

You could have bought a gt350r for 20k cheaper.. did you? No... you bought it for over 90k so you could say you did.. which is why you've mentioned how much you paid multiple times

Weren't you an ardent ecoboost hater?

Correct, i despise the eco 3.5L for truck use, thats a fact but have you seen the new navigator or sat in one? My God, the interior puts bentleys to shame.

Also, at this point it's not like you have a choice if you want a ford SUV. Explorer, expedition, navigator and upcoming aviator have no v8 options available. I'll just be thankful that you can still get the coyote in the f150 and mustang.

Amazing how you just don’t get that a truck is a more capable tow vehicle than a P-car SUV. My wife’s Aviator has a factory hitch, but if I need to pull anything I’m using my F150 every time.

Do what you want. We don’t really care. Just don’t expect the rest of the free world to agree you made the right choice for towing.

If you didn’t care about people’s opinions, why even ask?

Obviously you will get what you want, as you should but I think we all can agree there are far better tow vehicles out there. As I’ve stated before I speak as someone who currently has to tow with a mid size suv and because of it I’m back in the market for a truck.

I still say get the Porsche for the wife if you can comfortably afford it because frankly it’s a damn nice ride.

Go for it and post pics when you get it.
Does it come with run flats or a spare?

What types of deal do you think you can get on one?

Flat out fact is you're 100% wrong. My wife has NEVER said she likes the Raptor more and wouldn't say something so ridiculous. She loves the Cayenne, too! Stop inferring your crappy emotions and making up "facts" out of thin air.

- I and plenty others care about "fun to drive" on a road trip. I don't care what you want to do out of state. Obviously, good enough for you is not good enough for me.
- If it's just my wife and me inside the vehicle, what am I "showing off" and to whom??
- Utility is utility. If the Explorer is good enough for you, good for you.
- Not many, but guess what. IT'S JUST A VEHICLE! Why buy something and NOT use it for what the engineers built into it?

And I think you're literally the only person who constantly harps on how much I paid for my R. The money clearly didn't come out of your bank account, so what's it to you?? I was asked what I paid one time, and I answered the question. I don't mention what I paid, YOU DO as though it's supposed to be a dig at me. At this point, it's pretty clear you're just mad that I'm able to buy nice things. Why is that? Do you feel like I owe you something, instead?

Amazing how you just don’t get that a truck is a more capable tow vehicle than a P-car SUV. ...

Amazing how you and the others don't get that I'm buying a vehicle FOR MORE THAN JUST TOWING A TRAILER.

If you didn’t care about people’s opinions, why even ask?

...

Asks for people's opinions on car forum.

...

Not once did I ask anybody anything. The topic of the thread is how I was underwhelmed by the Trackhawk. Some of y'all got totally butthurt by that, and now you're literally trying to change the narrative. Not gonna work.

I stand corrected I re skimmed the original post and saw you didn’t actually ask for advice. However you posted on an open form not only a vehicle review but perspective purchase alternatives and went into detail about what intended use was. Now you seem surprised people would give their opinions on the thread.

I can’t speak for everyone but I 100% couldn’t care less about your narrative, I gave my opinion based on my experience and that was it. At the end of the day you control what you buy so who cares what people on a forum think about you or your so called narrative?

You appear to be underwhelmed on a daily basis, by cars that impress the rest of the world.

You’re ‘that guy’ that HAS to go against the grain. We get it.

Just don’t get soo asshurt when you get called on it homie. We call a spade a spade. We all have experiences in every day life. However to post a 8 paragraph post about it must meant you were feeling some type of way, or just trolling.

And if you REALLY think a raptor is a monster truck.

Just lol

Brb gonna go tell Koenigsegg his cars are shit cuz they don’t float.
