I was at the speed shop getting some parts for my Shelby and the Dyno was free, so we strapped down the F250 and let it eat.

Not bad for stock.
The newer powerstrokes are pretty awesome. ALOT more technology than the ol 6.uhoh
That amazing! I'd be shocked if my stock '16 Cummins Ram made 300/700 to the tires.
The new Ford Superdutys are stout AF.
Getting an accurate torque reading on diesels always used to seem difficult back when I was in the game.Good HP #'s but I would have thought torque to be higher?

It's like the dyno could never load them hard enough.
Either way it's insane how much power/torque these things make compared to the old stuff.

Made good power the biggest restriction on the new diesel is the exhaust. Seems to pick up alot of tq when people do the def delete
A few diesel performance companies have been doing builds with the DEF intact with a very small margin of horsepower under a full deleted truck. The emissions systems aren't as restrictive as you think. Its more the maintenance/reliability aspect of the emissions systems versus all out power loss when deleting them from the newer trucks.
I do know a SCR catalyst for my Colorado is in the $1800 range if it ever craps out. Once i hit my warranty/year end ill be deleting for the single fact the parts are stupid expensive. Id rather keep the thing a clean diesel but they need to make parts more reasonable in cost.
The addition of SCR has also majorly cut down on the frequency at which the new trucks need to re-gen.
IMO, Duramax used to the best DPF setup. They had an extra fuel injector downstream of the turbo for re-gen. That saved the back two cylinders from being cooked. I think they dropped that setup as a cost cutting measure though.
The L5P Duramax still uses the 9th injector downstream of the cylinders. Simple, yet very smart design.
