And this is how we treat the people we want to rush into a school shooting and save our kids?

Hell, there are cops that live in lower income housing here.

It sucks. For them to do what they do for the pay and respect they don’t get... takes a way different kind of person

1.) The instagram post can't be real, can it? The writing comes across as being authored by a person borderline slow and one can not be THAT obtuse, can they?
2.) Why is the name blurred out?
3.) Again, if it is real, what happens if an inmate tosses a cup of water on a C.O.?
4.) I'm all for making generalizations provided it is applied equally across the board. As an example, can we start saying we have a 13-90 in progress w/o tears flowing?

Yeah it’s real, the IG one reposted it and a co-worker of mine already has the actually screen shot of the post with the CO’s name on it.

Throwing an unwanted liquid on someone could easily get someone an assault charge. GTFOOH with your "not even committing a crime b.s."

Maybe those people should get a job, a productive hobby or something honest to occupy their time rather than acting the fool.
They a good boys. He dindu nuffin!

Seriously, I can not even fathom how someone on here or in any capacity would condone what these hoodlums were doing. Forget that it was a cop. What if someone did this to a cashier at Best Buy or at your local bank or USPS? For some reason a person doing his job has to deal with physical abuse? Is that part of the job requirements for a NYPD employee?

Unarmed people not even committing a crime get pelted with bullets from cops, you guys love it.
Some cops get water splashed on them, you guys have heart attacks, go on racist rants and start telling fanciful lies. (NYC the biggest city in the world?!? Not even remotely close. NYC cops' starting salary is $20K?!? LOL What a load of horse hocky.) What pieces of "work" you all are.

I can only imagine what went in those buckets. Piss, spit etc. You think that water was 100% clean?

This makes me furious. That one officer was thrown with a bucket. Next thing that will happen is one of them will be stabbed from behind. If any more NYC officers are injured or die de Blasio should be locked up in a hard labor prison for the rest of his life. He is a piece of shit.

I like the comments on Fox. This one is good:

"Do something nice for a cop. Give an officer a bottle of cold water on a hot day. Buy a $10 gift card for a policeman/woman lunch at Subway, Jimmy John's or Firehouse. And simply thank them for the job they are doing. Sure, there are a few bad cops. However the vast majority are out there protecting us and our communities 24/7."

I have not been pulled over in many years now because I drive on cruise control but if I ever do get pulled over for a traffic offense in the future I'll be sure to thank the cop for doing his / her tough, thankless job. If I break traffic laws I won't say I dindu nuffin. There are laws and the cops are doing their jobs enforcing them. Why be mad at cops for doing what their jobs require of them?

I used to be RECKLESS on the road, had gotten pulled over 20+ times.

Had maybe 5 tickets.

Its really simple : you treat the officer like they're 'a human being just doing their job' aka NOT like they're a piece of shit, and you don't try to hold up court on the side of the road, and what do ya know, you usually get out of the ticket.

Hell I got caught slowing down from a pull, still got me at 77 in a 45. He wrote it down to 59 right off the rip. I said 'man, that sounds expensive...'

he goes 'Jesus man.' and writes WARNING all over the ticket.

Told me to 'be gone before he got back in his car and changed his mind'

wasn't arguing that lolol

I also watch a lot of police body cam type shows / videos, and 99.9% of the time, the idiots blatantly DISOBEY the police direct orders. These officers have to tell a grown ass man 15+ times to lay down. Should be once.

Give me several examples of this idiotic, reckless, and lazy statement you just made. You said unarmed “people” meaning more than 1, and presumably several; while committing no crimes no less.
Unarmed people can be shot by police and it does happen, and it is almost always justified. Your people don’t like the fact they can’t get away with anything and everything and riot in the streets and cause damage. People like you blindly follow these people right over the cliff.
Just because there have been bad police shootings doesn’t mean it’s a normal, everyday occurrence. What is a normal, everyday occurrence is the police defiant criminal that creates this type of situation.

It’s the meaning behind it. It’s the breakdown of the rule of law, which for the civilized people, is potentially disastrous for our way of life.

I'm just asking some legitimate questions about the job you do, and your response is, to paraphrase, "You don't know anything about it, so STFU."? Defensive much? I guess I must've hit too close to home for comfort.

Not that it's relevant, but you're correct, I don't have first hand experience. I do, however, have an uncle who was a police officer for 30 years in Lockland OH, and have talked to him about these kinds of topics on a few occasions. Is that good enough for you?

Wrong. You didn’t ask a question.

You said “police don’t take out their own trash”

This is false. We’ve got guys getting fired for Facebook posts right now. If you think there is some underground society within LE that allows regular misconduct take place, you are mistaken.

Like anything else, I’m sure some offices either don’t know or have trouble firing certain employees.

Sounds like your Uncles office had this problem. Shame on him if didn’t blow the whistle.

On your comment that I told you to “STFU”.

I didn’t say that or anything close.

You’re a classic media following tool. You don’t have any real knowledge on a particular subject. You throw out pretty strong statements. I called you on the knowledge, nothing more/nothing less, and you turned it into me telling you to STFU.

Go watch CNN some more.

No point, he doesn’t answer when called on his bullshit that he can’t back up. It’s his MO. Stirs the pot and never posts again.

Exactly. What's next after they notice a cop does not even turn around when a bucket of piss water is poured on him? Hmm let's try hitting him over the head with a bat. After that stab him with a knife. If these hoodlums realize they can get away with disrespecting cops it will lead to something potentially much worse.

I was working in South Africa and told my boss there I had a job offer from the USA and would leave in a few months after the Visa was approved. My boss told me that's great and good luck but you'll probably be back in less than 10 years. He told me most people that go to USA come back and that the USA was a "Police State". South Africa in the 90s had a much less visible police enforcement on the roads but they did make use of speeding cameras much more often, especially on freeways.

Well I am still here now after 20 years and a US Citizen. I will admit it took some adjustment to all the cops on the road and I could have been friendlier towards them when I got my first few speeding tickets. I racked up a few right off the bat in the first few years. And then later on I realized all the shit they go through and had a much more positive approach when pulled over and got some waived. I have not had a ticket or been pulled over the past few years after I changed my driving habit. But like I said if I do get pulled over for a legitimate reason I'll compliment the cop on doing his / her job and pay the ticket if it is not waived.

Show me this overwhelming evidence of “bad apples” in law enforcement. I know there are a few bad ones here and there, but to suggest it’s to such a scale that it feeds the beast of anti-police culture is ridiculous.

Officers have too much unchecked power. I don’t really trust them and I would rather not seem them patrolling around. Get out of my sight, Sit at your station and wait to be called. Yes. I’m serious.
