There might be more to it. I guess protesters wanted to tear down a statue, and he was against it. Cops didn't want to move in for fear of violence. There's a video below. Seems he spotted as carrying after assaulting a woman, was told to leave by the crowd, left, came back, assaulted two more woman and was then confronted....possibly the reason he was arrested.

Video below with this caption "As a long-time concealed carry permit-holder with my share of combat pistol training, I’ll say Baca did everything a responsible CCW is *not* supposed to do."

I clearly don't know all the laws, but I would think cops have seen this video and know know facts and laws than I do.

Except he didn't pull the pistol out until he had been trucked over the head twice, someone said they were going to kill him, and from photos one of the attackers had a knife in his hand. At that point he pulled and shot. Saying he was looking for a fight is one thing, saying he was looking for a reason to use his gun is another and it can't be proven by his actions because he actually showed restraint until he was forced to draw. Of course they will claim he was looking for a fight because he was one of the few there trying to protect the statue while others were trying to tear it down. From an unbiased view, you wouldn't say him being there fighting for the statue was instigation... he was fighting for the statue, but anyone who opposed that idea is going to say he was instigating. I saw video from inside the crowd when he threw the girl down and he was trying to make his way around and through the crowd and one girl kept boxing him out and throwing her whole body into him so he eventually just took the force she was exerting against him and helped her fall over with a good sweep.

As far as the shoot goes though, I don't blame him going armed because I wouldn't dare go down there without my gun, although I would be more wary about getting as involved as he did as I am more concerned about maintaining positive control of my weapon at all times, but if I was getting trucked in the head and chased I wouldn't hesitate to pull it either. You are actually in life-threatening danger and no one can say otherwise. The guy in the Tweet doesn't know what the hell he is talking about because the scenario is not a typical scenario. We don't teach you how to navigate riots in combat marksmanship courses.

They should change Aunt Jemima to Aunt Karen.

Yes and put a white woman on it and change the color to clear. The left will be scratching their heads after that lol!

This is a really stupid idea though. They should just have left it alone there was nothing offensive about Aunt Jemima! They are actually discriminating against blacks by doing this! I am sure quite a few blacks won't like this move.

Sad part is, if the Atlanta police all walked, it would be celebrated right now instead of what that impact should say. If I was a cop right now,I'd probably think twice about responding to calls in certain areas.

I admire these people. I really do. Which people? The ones who now have an issue with a syrup bottle, that's who. Why do I admire them? Simple. They must not have any other issues in their lives besides a mascot if it is causing them as much consternation as it appears. I want to wake up when the only problem I'll have is a with bottle of pancake condiment.

This is absolutely ****ing unacceptable. The shooting WAS JUSTIFIED. I am genuinely pissed to hear this.... I hate liberals beyond what words could possible describe at the moment.

Step one, change of venue.

That would be the absolute first thing I as a defense attorney would file motion for. I pray this case would get assigned here in Phoenix.

He shot a white guy. This won’t be such a big deal.

Serious question! Why can't law enforcement shift to a more visual K9 presence. Send in the dogs. Cuff once perp is subdued. Stupid people run from guns, really stupid people run from k9's.

They'll just harken it back to police being like slave drivers sic'ing the hounds on runaway slaves.
