explosions are a normal everyday occurrence in the middle east
What's crazy to think about is the people filming from 500-600 meters away, even a click away, and thinking they are safe which is a pretty reasonable distance in most cases. Unfortunateky this was not like other cases. I would probably think the distance was safe too before seeing this video, but I just couldn't fathom watching that and then all the sudden seeing the streets being upended and building disintegrating in front of you.
I've posted a couple of things in this thread detailing the "coincidences" of this explosion (among several others in the immediate timeframe) and some other stuff, but if you're not one for conspiracy theories and just take these events on the surface as they come...

Did you see fireworks or ammunition going off?
There are a few videos that clearly show fireworks in the initial blaze.
Fox reported that the Lebanese government thinks it might have been started by a welding crew sent out to fox the doors on the warehouse where it was stored because they were afraid of theft. I think there is even a picture of the guys working on it right next to the AN.
