Buddy of mine messaged me out of the blue a few weeks back asking if I was interested in another project. Told me he had a 99 cobra he picked up. A friend of his was looking to Ls swap a cobra, came across this one and couldn't do it, as the car is stupid clean. Long story short my buddy ended up with it and didnt have time for it. He bought the car disassembled, but all there. He hits me up, and long story short, it's in my driveway now.

Car is Rio red with a parchment interior. Chassis has 60k, and still has IRS, amber tails, bud sadly no 99 bumper... yet...

Here's to a revival!

Side note, 4v powered f150s pull a lot better than I anticipated.

Thank you for saving a Ford from a stupid LS swap. I guess for the $$ it’s hard to beat and LS, but keep it in a Chevy.

That's a nice find and a great project. Can't wait to see it finished.

You are living in dream land if you really believe the NA 4.6L (Cobra or Mach) had anything for LS.

They weren’t in the same zip code stock for stock. They weren’t in the same galaxy mod for mod. Lol

Its funny how stock for stock all day the machs were beating the LS1. During that time i was at the track every week during race season. It wasnt till the Ls1 started doing cam and long tubes when they woke up. There were dogs on the stock 3.42 gears. Adding 4.11 made a huge difference.

NA 4.6L Ford motors are to LS, what antifa soy boys are to Patriots. ;)

Haha I don’t care about the LS argument anymore. This was good.
N/A 4.6 isn’t impressive I’ll give you that. I guess my mind is always on boost, so I wasn’t even thinking n/a.
I do know my 358 ProCharger fox likes to chew LS swap cars. Unless they are pushed to the max, but then they grenade. Then, magically reappear at the track the next time because the owners go to a junk yard and grab another LS for next to nothing. Like I said, for the $$ it’s hard to not respect the LS swap with nitrous or boost thrown at it.
I just keep it Ford powered.

With Hellcat Engine pull outs for as little as $12k, I have seriously thought about putting that in the Cobra and selling my Mod engine to make back at least half of that.

Engine mounts are damn close, just need a bell housing, wiring and exhaust.

Hellesnake?
Hellbra?
E85 and Cobcat?

Might be easier since you were never able to sort out all your cobra issues. Maybe have a shop do all the work this time.

I’d rock a hellbra. I think those new edge cars are fantastic looking with the right set up.
