This group always have interesting takes, so I am gonna throw out my current automotive dilemma. I have a 2022 Bronco Black Diamond on order and it has been since May of 2021. I have hope but not much that it will be delivered before the snow flies here in WV which is generally early December. It wasn't until January last year but when it hit, it was not fun. Traded the wife's DD for the Boxster and I will not drive it on salty roads so what do I do until it comes in? Search began for a 2014-17 Wrangler and one with less than 40K is full MSRP still......and they often sell quickly.

Would you.....
1. Pay 15-20K for a used Wranger/FJ Cruiser with 100-150K miles on it. Say 2008-2013? Risking catastrophic repair. Doesnt look like they will depreciate much.
2. Go ahead and try and buy a new Wrangler as they seem to be near MSRP on AutoTrader but I have not verified that yet. I cannot justify the MSRPplus on a new Bronco that you have to pay now. It seems 10K over is a deal almost. I caught myself considering $42k for a $32k base two door.
3. Hold out till the snow falls and just go buy whatever is on the local lot.
4. Thought about ordering a Maverick, but they seem behind as well.

I am seriously conflicted.

Why not buy a new Rubicon? Many on dealer lots, no waiting, MSRP deals or less all over the place.

I had two Bronco reservations starting in October of 2020. Ford screwed the pooch for too long, and I ordered a Wrangler for the Wench last week. When my Shelby sells, I will be without a Ford for the first time since 1992.

It must be a Jeep thing.
I don't understand.
Never have, never will.
Worked on plenty of them.
Still don't get it.
Would not own one.
Because I "don't understand"
Maybe when I am mentally retarded or have dementia I will be smart enough to "understand". But not likely.

I think you have to wear tap out shirts when you buy a jeep. Is your wardrobe up to date?

I'd wait for the Bronco. Just saw one tonight while out riding UTV with my dad, it looks sweet.

The Jeep will be the wife’s daily. My daily is a GR86. Toys will be a ‘66 Stingray and ‘23 or ‘24 C8

My wife had and should still have a Bronco on order since August last year. Ford was sending her emails and forgetmenot gifts for a little bit, but that seem to die off once she threw her hat in the ring for the Raptor. I think her order got purged. We haven't heard anything from Ford or the dealer for probably 6 months. Just on a whim the family stopped into a Jeep dealer and the wife fell for her current Mojave. The only thing I don't care for are the seats. We've took the Jeep on several trips already clocking over 15k in just 3 or 4 months. It's a keeper for now, because it serves the family well. Towing and cargo are the big factors when comparing it to a Bronco. Just no comparison, as open air cargo is valuable for hauling fuel, garbage to the dump, oversized cargo, and towing anything substantial. We are happy with our current ride and discuss it frequently as a family. My loyalty to Ford is long gone and my next purchase will likely be Dodge. Ford has become Authoritarian in its business sales practices. You get what you get when we decide you get it. Screw that! Years ago if you had the money you could buy what you wanted, now you have to know someone or pay stupid ADM. That's 3rd would shit there.

FJs have a cult following, like the good old Broncos. Prices are pretty high.

Mavericks are just gay, IMO.

I ordered a new Bronco back in 2021 as well. It's going to look sweet parked next to my 1996 Bronco.

My friend got his Bronco and man does it look slick. Wait for the Bronco. **** Jeep.
I'd wait, as well. I get your reluctance to pay a $10K ADM, but the Bronco is a hot commodity. No way would I buy a Jeep. The Bronco is leaps and bounds better all around IMO.

These discussions are always interesting to me. I have a JL Rubicon with 30K miles. Loaded, bought it new. I have had zero issues with the vehicle. Yes the steering is vague and sucks on the interstate especially in high cross winds. Everything else has been great. And no I have never experienced the “death wobble” associated with SFA’s.

I also reserved a new bronco on 7/17/20 and am still waiting. Depending on the trim and options the new Bronco will be superior in many ways and less so in other ways. Off-road the jeep is still king. The OEM tie-rods are a joke on the Bronco and need replaced in my opinion.

I am keeping my Jeep even after my Bronco arrives. Badlands loaded with Sasquatch. I like both vehicles and each has their place. I hope my future Bronco goes 30K without issue similar to my jeep.

One of the first day orders and you are still waiting? Dang.

I was 3 months later and have given up. The on road manners for the Bronco are likely much better than the Jeep, but I can’t wait forever.

I hear you. I'm tempted to start looking at Gladiators. One Bronco may be enough for me :)
