This group always have interesting takes, so I am gonna throw out my current automotive dilemma. I have a 2022 Bronco Black Diamond on order and it has been since May of 2021. I have hope but not much that it will be delivered before the snow flies here in WV which is generally early December. It wasn't until January last year but when it hit, it was not fun. Traded the wife's DD for the Boxster and I will not drive it on salty roads so what do I do until it comes in? Search began for a 2014-17 Wrangler and one with less than 40K is full MSRP still......and they often sell quickly.
Would you.....
1. Pay 15-20K for a used Wranger/FJ Cruiser with 100-150K miles on it. Say 2008-2013? Risking catastrophic repair. Doesnt look like they will depreciate much.
2. Go ahead and try and buy a new Wrangler as they seem to be near MSRP on AutoTrader but I have not verified that yet. I cannot justify the MSRPplus on a new Bronco that you have to pay now. It seems 10K over is a deal almost. I caught myself considering $42k for a $32k base two door.
3. Hold out till the snow falls and just go buy whatever is on the local lot.
4. Thought about ordering a Maverick, but they seem behind as well.
I am seriously conflicted.
