I’ve only started it once in about the last 9 months. Battery is dead again.

This is the driving season for us here and there it sits.

Maybe I’ll go grab a battery for it and go for a cruise.

taking it out for a drive in in anger usually solves that for me.

Stop whipping Haitians and go drive your sports car.

I was just in SD.

Shoulda hit ya up but was trying to play it safe.

Last time I was there in 2018, I was swirling the ****ing drain and got in trouble.

Met @Deceptive and was then carried to my hotel by two coworkers lol

If you unload one now, you're going to pay a premium to get back into one that's still in decent shape. I paid $20k for mine back in 2011 with 60,400 miles. Originally a TX car that found its second owner in northern IL. When I got her, she was an upper, intake, x-pipe, cat-back, 4.10s, tune car making 451/457. As she sits, I think I'm at 84,3xx miles plus a whole lotta mods further down the road. I feel she's in a happy spot where everything is working fine so I just leave it alone. Probably do a fuel system eventually for peace of mind, maybe E85 capability too. Don't drive it as much as I used to partially because I have other toys to play with now and because she's riding the hairy edge of being somewhat of an "event" to take out. She's all business and very engaging which I absolutely love about it, but I'm not always looking for quite so much of an experience. Must be getting older. lol

Replicating it nowadays would be a real challenge. I kicked around the idea of letting her go for a GT350, but I was met with surprising resistance from my chick. The last couple car shows I've taken it to, she's actually drawn a lot of attention from the younger crowd (15-early 20s). It's shocking to me that they even know what it is let alone come straight for me with their cameras ready when I back in. In a day and age where they've got McLarens, GT-Rs, trendy EV junk...etc, I can't believe they give a damn about a rickety old Mustang from 20 years ago. Almost brings a tear to my eye. haha Damn kids...
Yeah I agree it’s a bit of an event. I’ll make an event and come pick her up from ya. ;)

Funds to the sellers bank cleared today, the Cobra is officially mine. As far as shipping pick up is tomorrow and delivery is saturday in a closed trailer. Also was contacted by one of the previous owners on instagram and learned more of a back story and some mods I was not aware of including

Head cooling mod
RXT Clutch
Stage 3 port on the Eaton ( knew it was ported but not by how much or by who)
Possibly has an FTBR kit installed, once I have it here I'll find out.
MGW shifter

At one point had speed hut gauge pod and gauges but that is now gone. Also asked about the Saleen wheels but they were not the ones who put them on.

I need to charge the AC and fix the drivers window.
What is wrong with the driver’s window? I’m assuming it does not function? Remove the door panel and hold down the window switch, and at the same time whack the window motor with a hammer. It’s a somewhat common issue with new edge cars, or so they say.

Yep, it's happened before. Just need the time to get to it.

I’ve owned my 03 Cobra since 2008…bolt on car making 480/465…Thought about going the Whipple/VMP route but I have a fully built Fox body that I drag/street drive so the Cobra remains the same year after year. I‘ve taken the car to Woodward in Detroit multi times and each time I do the Ford reps ask me to park in the Ford display area. They often don’t believe it’s still rockin the eaton after 20yrs. It’s actually funny many other Cobra owners have told me to just leave it alone. Now I’m thinking maybe I’ll just port the OG eaton to get it into that 525-550RW range to be more competitive VS the newer NA stuff.
Regardless the car is a keeper and I still enjoy driving it.

They’re all around fun cars whether they’re modded to hell, or even stock cars. I enjoyed my black coupe stock. It was a very fun car. The original plan was to build my foxbody into a ripper. However I changed plans and decided to make 700hp in the black coupe versus the foxbody. The foxbody will now get restored and I’ll enjoy my street/strip cobra. While I stare at my white coupe on dolleys haha

That's where I'm leaning towards this one. My one before had the Gen3R and while the power was awesome it just brought up a whole bunch of issues I didn't foresee. The one I'm getting now does have a some port work done but I do not think its done to the extent of where I want it because I also want to be in that 520-550 range. I'll see what it does on the dyno when I get it retuned and then decided if I'll pull it off next winter and send it off to be ported.

How did I miss this thread? Pretty good read hearing about others stories.

This spring I'll have my cobra 14 years. It's the longest I've ever owned a vehicle. I won't ever sell mine, I have a lot of money and time spent with it. So it has some sentimental value.

It's modded perfect and drives like stock until I hit the go pedal.

I'm very fortunate that my wife funds my car hobby, because she's bought most of what we have in the stable.

Much appreciated!

It's too bad none of you guys live closer. I never get many visitors stopping by.

I love that stable and shop. I want to get one built behind my house in a few years. Also never had a vert and kinda have the itch to add one down the road.

That would be awesome! I didn't have the room for a bigger shop at the house. Maybe a 3 stall, but a 1,000 square feet is the maximum in our town. Unless it's attached to the house.

It would be nice to have at least a 2 stall so our dailys wouldn't be outside 27/4. But the wife likes the backyard.

I’m going to have to play with some designs, my tool shed will go and the deck. But the patio is big enough I won’t miss the deck with a shop. I’d like to have an over hang car port on the side of it for the F150.

Ah I can understand that. Do you keep all yours at the shop in the winter? If so could you park a daily in the garage at the house in the winter? I’m sure your dogs probably thank you for the bigger back yard too.
