I've got 95 "R" #4 sitting safe and sound in the shop this evening...JM and RD dropped it off around 7pm......Will be taking a ton of pictures before we disassemble for a repaint back to all white..........

Oh, wait, now I remember why I hit the reply button, what are you asking for the 65 track car ;-) .....

Bill S.

UGH!!!! After a 700 mile round trip and number of traffic jams on I-95, Cranky and I dropped Rosie's Diner R off at Bill's shop last night for the repaint.

The Joker's owner (Earl) was a strange mystical cat. He explained to me that since the death of Heath Ledger, he has been channeling his sprirt. When I showed up at his home (he called it The Bat Cave), he had the first Batman movie playing on his VCR (w/ Nicholson as The Joker). We finished the deal and he blessed the car (really!) and we left.

Next stop: G&S Autoworks...the Crankoid race shop of choice!

Looks like this one's going to make the "buy it now" price with no problem. And before I can sell my Fastback and buy it! Damn it!!!:cuss:

Oh come on... just hit the BIN. You can figure out how to pay for it later...LOL

San Antonio is only a couple hours from me, I could store it for you and keep the fluids warm until you can make the trip west to pick it up.

Thanks for the offer! I'll ask my wife if it's OK(just to avoid the inevitable marital stife) and get back to you. Just kidding, sort of. I've had multiple cars in the garage and it makes me a bit more crazy than usual. So I try to keep it to one "toy" at a time.

Tell you what, take this 65 Fastback off my hands and you can store the R and "keep the fluids warm" for a few days.

OK, who bought the 95R that was just on Ebay? The one with A/C that I was lusting after.

A buyer pulled the trigger and pushed the "Buy It Now" button.

He who hesitates..............

Bruce, I know you'll appreciate my point of view but I've thought long and hard about the best use for an "R" model mustang. I've concluded that "R" was short for "Race." Call me crazy, but I'm thinking that was the "R" in "Cobra R."

Unlike the early Shelbys and such, there are plenty of low mile survivors for the late model stuff. Many even have inflated ebay bid history. But back in the real world, the cars are worth what someone will pay. My "new" R that left the track in one piece last time it visited will go straight in for a cage.

Whatever way you go, the "R" models are fun & rare. We'll all have fun with them one way or the other, I think.

Cobra R oil Cap

Item # 130202671838

I bought one of these caps for my 93 and 95R's just to draw attention at car shows to the fact that the car is in fact a real Cobra R. The "R" oil cap makes them stop and take a second look. This also saves the inkstamped original cap from engine compartment heat. This R cap is a nice little touch, but definitely not a Ford production item.

The 00R needs no additional "R" call outs, the intake plaque says it all.

413 mile 95R for sale

eBay Item number: 360029885537

Seller doesn't offer much detail, but it appears the car was delivered new to the selling dealership. So it's a "one owner", or may have never been off its MSO. Too bad they don't tell you more in the listing.

Thanks! It is different, isn't it?

VIR is a wonderful idea, but I'd rather someone else bought the car and ran VIR with you guys!

I'm back onto the "air conditioned car train of thought", which is why I sold the R a year and half ago. Really wanted a toy car with A/C. So what do I do? I buy a 65 Mustang track car. I never learn.
