I plan on buying one. Saving for a down payment. May have to sell the '05 F-150, would be worth it. How come there is such a delay on pricing info? I want to know how much this thing will cost, anyone else?

i heard ford has it set for under 50k. look for the stock no option raptor to be about 5k more than the loaded fx4 150!

if this is the case it will be an absolute bargain for what ford has put into this thing!!!

Yes, under fifty grand would be great. I'm not counting on it though. I'll still be willing to buy one. It could be the greatest vehicle SVT has ever produced. Great for driving year round where I live, where the weather isn't always the best.

Was going to order a HD Superduty, but I think this will suit my needs better. Ability to tow my Lightning and all year performance. I think it is a great mix and the suspension technology is awsome.
Time to retire the Bronco.

The 50k price tag is killing the idea of this truck in my mind. We will see, truck prices are heavily discounted. I personally think this truck will get some discounts too, maybe not from day one but eventually.

My current "truck" is a 2007 Sport Trac Limited 4x4 V8. It was the best alternative to the canceled SVT Adrenalin. While it is a good all-around vehicle I have had times when I definitely could have used a six foot bed instead of the little over four foot bed on the Trac. It runs and handles pretty damn well with the 4.6 3V, 6-speed, 3.55 gears and IRS. It also makes a decent hunting vehicle as long as you don't get too crazy off-road. I added a few bolts-ons: CAI, bigger throttle body, X-Cal2, Magnaflow cat-back and BFG 265/65/18 All-Terrain T/As.
The Raptor would be as versatile as the Trac has been with much greater off-road capabilities (understatement of the year) plus the bigger bed. Make mine Blue Flame with the 6.2 please.

It is killing me waiting on pricing from my dealership. I already sold my Terminator and have cash waiting. However, there is no way I am paying $50K for a pickup. It is nice out today, maybe it is time to visit a few Ford dealerships. The problem is that most have marked down GT500's and maybe even 2010 Mustangs which will all taunt me for a test drive.

needs to be priced at 34 for 5.4 and 36 for 6.2L
Come on man, have you priced a new truck lately? My 08 fx4 supercrew MSRP was more than that. If they can get discounted down to that I'm in the market, MSRP at that price, I doubt it.

have you priced out pickups today? the 150 supercrews are selling for more than 40, and the 250 powerstrokes are at or above 50k. i priced out a new fx4 ext cab and it was 38 without nav or leather.:poke:

look at the mustangs. the gt500 are still 40k even with steep discouts. the new gt will be 35 with any type of decent options and the verts are at 40k. now the mustang is a toy pure and simple. it cant work and it cant tow a family around.

the raptor can do both! and unlike the lightning it can go offroad. raptor is a street maching, a station wagon family car, an off road camping utility vehicle, one that will let you get your household chores done(rocks, trees, plants, dirt), and a vehicle that you can contract yourself out with and get paid for! 5 cars for the price of 1 nice.

the mustang or any other small 2 door sports car only has one use. so before i go spending 40+ large on a toy, i will look long and hard at the 6.2 raptor!!!!! its a vehicle that i both need and can have balls to the wall fun with! not bad for a 50k dollar investment!

Well, I was spoiled buying new Fox cars for mid-teens, new LS1's for low 20's, and my Termy and GMC 4x4 for under 30. So, I was mentally prepared to go into the 40's but wasn't ready to skip the 40's and go right for the 50's. If I am going to drop $50K+ on a car or truck, I need to step back and check out all vehicles for that price. You start seeing Lexus GS, Acura Rl's, GT500's, M3's, and Power Stroke's. It gets a bit more complicated for me.

what if the raptor would pull better skidpad numbers than a 80k e55 when new????

the 6.2 raptor should be at 50k or below out the door.

To even think that the raptor will out handle the E55 is nuts. Skid pad numbers or not.

On a side note, do follow a certain someone around the internet and just quote everything he says???;-)

i think the idea of the raptor is a good idea but it isnt the truck for alot of people thats why i would love to see a new generation of the lightning and with svt building another truck i feel that is a sign of them building back up who knows maybe we can see a 6.2s/c powered lightning in the future. I for one would love to see both in my driveway haha
I disagree. this would make a great work truck and can be written off.

Well I just got the call. The dealership took my order. I’ll go in this weekend to put down what he called a “small deposit”. He said I wasn’t locked in since he know it will sell and he actually gets it sooner with my name on it than if he just ordered it for the showroom. I can do a test drive too before I commit to buying. I am curious what he will be asking for it. I’m betting MSRP and I’d like to get a little off of that. I really hope they won’t try to add a dealer markup to it or I will just walk.

I'm not expecting a speed demon but if I really don't like the power of the 5.4 it will be my last chance to hold off for the 6.2 Waiting after driving one would really suck!

I ordered a:
Blue Flame
5.4l
Stowable bed extender
Tailgate step
Brake controller
Luxury package
Moonroof

If my math was correct I am expecting about $41,695 MSRP. That sounds like a lot but my Sport Trac was around 35k MSRP 2 years ago.
