Well I took all of the prices off of the website he has displayed in his sig. Also if you feel I stretched them a bit then take into account that I bet he didn't install half of that stuff so those prices can account for some of the install fees... I know the brakes and wheels have little to do with it but they are still mods. Whatever man, the GT500 is a helluva nice car! I can't wait for the re-match...

I'll bet I installed every single item on my car with the exception of the gears! Don't assume something you don't know!

Well damn that is cool! Where do you shop for your parts because damn I took all of those prices off of Lethal Performances site since it was in your sig. I figured you just dropped it off or something. Anyways, you must get some kind of discount on everything or lots of that stuff was already on the car. Either way its still there and adds up.

no no, its the king at what it does, like i said in the post above... it just seems SO easy to talk about price when your comparing two cars in which one has only one goal, and the other must accomplish all in order to get respect AND do it for less than the euros

As I said before I have no argument there. The C6Z is an all around performer for what it costs, short of the 08-09 Vipers, nothing comes close. The GT500 excels in it's own way, but it will never do some of things a C6Z is capable of.

All parts that I bought new were purchased from Lethal, I have a very good relationship with them and do get very large discounts. They are not an install shop they only sell parts. Many things like I showed you above were bought used or new but prevously bought. I maybe a "baller" as you said but I'm not stupid with my money.

i'm not all hung up, i'm just amazed on how people are in denial about the race. in this circumstance my buddy bought his car for 44-45k used:thumbsup: he was thinking about a Shelby but decided the vette was a better bang for the buck. :-D

now lets not talk about a Ford GT that costs more than twice the price of a Z06 but still manages to pull the GT.

take a look C6 Z06 vs GT 40.....barely modded almost stock z06 - Car Videos on StreetFire

Hell this argument can go all year long and there's still no clear winner. Put some minor mod's on the Ford GT and see what happen, you know what I' m trying to say.....right! In this thread, the GT500 lost fair and square...

Yeah that video is old. That's phamtom's car on the CF, that car was lemon lawed for literally falling apart. :lol1: DBK posted another video of him racing a stock Z06, it's literally too close to call. The Z06 is a tad quicker, but the FGT is geared towards 205mph+ runs so it starts gaining ground on the Z06 the faster it went.

Anyways, yes the GT is way more expensive than a Z06, but IMO it's TWICE the car.. The FGT costs WAY more to produce, that's why it's more expensive. It's not built off a base model $40,000 car.. I love how Chevy utilized the mass produced Corvette to create an awesome performer that was still affordable, but the Ford GT is on another level.

As for magazine numbers and track results, get behind the wheel of a mid-engine exotic, then compare it to a front engine car with the hood and front wheels considerably further away from you. Despite what the numbers say when both cars are pushed to the limit with professional drivers, they will feel like entirely different animals.

Both great cars, but I would take a FGT over even a ZR1 which is considerably faster. Speed isn't everything. Just like I would take a C6Z06 over any iteration of a GT500 even if they could somehow manage to make a factory one that was faster than a Z06, whether it be a KR, supersnake or whatever.

I agreed with you. Its gonna be tought to make KR, Supersnake to be faster than a Z06 merely due to the aerodynamic and weight factor. I think if you put a M5 tranny in there may be it could be done...Hmmmm wonder if it will fit mine......jkd.

Both cars are impressive, with that being said, does anyone know what the song at the beginning of the video is? Thanks.

I gotta say the whole MSRP argument is dumb, yes they're two different animals, but the fact remains you get a lot more than straight line performance for the $30K price difference.

One is a huge pony car with 4 seats, the other is a 2 seater sports car. They both excel in different ways. The whole well "if I did $30K in mods than I'd beat a Z06" is kind of a useless argument. You could say the same thing about Z06 vs a ZR1, Z06 vs a FGT or a Mustang GT vs a Mustang Cobra. Anything can be made fast with enough money.

Very well said. I'm so sick of these A$$ clowns bringing up MRSP. That's so F'N juvenile and hypocritical because if the had the money to buy anything other than a Mustang, they would regardless of $$...

Wow,

I never realized mustang owners were such ricers. Half the people posting in this thread aren't fast enough to run with a stock Z, but suddenly they are experts on what it takes to beat one... well on the internet bench anyway.

The only "fair" way to compare cars is stock for stock. Once you start modding it will almost always come down to who has the bigger check book, with drivers and conditions being the equalizer.

I've beaten a couple of these cars, but have no doubt in my mind, that from a highway roll (as is probably the only way to safely race either car on the street) it takes an order of magnitude more power in the GT500 to outdo the Z. The light weight, the perfectly matched gearing, aerodynamics, ect. All work out to one of the best circle track race cars you can buy off the showroom floor, that happens to also be fast from a highway roll as a by-product of it's original purpose.

Basically, the corvette is a marathon runner, that just happens to also be able to sprint faster then most sprinters. It's like matching a varsity highschool track star, against an olympian. The mustang has great potential with some additional parts, it can fill all roles with the right training (parts), whereas the corvette is a specialized machine to do battle among the gods (Ferrari, Lamhorghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, Mercedes) on Olympus (Europe).

If you will excuse the heady metaphor going on here.

To date I haven't seen a C6Z start a race under 60-70mph.

sit tight, there will be a vid posted today/soon of me raping a 600whp evo from a dig :coolman:

but yes, you are right, 99% of c6z's prefer to go from a roll, it's where we shine.
