1/4 would be a drivers race and on the highway the 408 fox body wouldn't stand a chance, speaking in terms of both cars having H/C/I setups.

But he doesn't have H/C/I setup. I could build an old chevette to beat that vette too. But I don't. Because then I would be gay. Just like talking about what if that vette had H/C/I setup. Not that having the H/C/I setup on the vette would be a bad idea.

Next time I run my cobra, I am going to rememeber to tell everyone: "It ran 10's, but it should go 9's, or even 8's, if only I had a whipple or twin turbo setup and a built motor and more mods that aren't on my car and probably never will be". Because, I am a broke *** and have no business anywhere near a race track.

I can't seem to understand how you guys get a rise out of seeing a heavily modified stroked car going up against a bone stock big cubed car that's choked from the factory.

Because the OP knows his car would get beat if the Z06 was anything but stock, so he'll take what he can get.

Even if the vette wasnt stock I still think that he would win. IT would be a lot closer but I still think that the mustang would win.

but dont feel bad 99redls1... I was stuck with a 04 GT that made 226 to the wheels for a few years. At that time I was jealous of your LS1!

I dont feel bad at all. I love my car. I wouldnt have bought it if I didnt like it. It runs pretty good for what I have done to it and am more than happy with the way it runs for now. I no what you mean though

This...

Isint this what racing is all about ?

Normally I wouldn't agree with anyone with a statement like that in their sig, but I agree. If all cars were stock, what would be the point in racing. You would know who's car is faster out of the factory. Then surely, the winner would always be the guy that paid more for their horsepower right off the dealer lot.

What's wrong with having a built light fox body. I raced nothing else until I bought a Cobra. They are ideal because they are light, reasonably cheap to build, and the parts are available anywhere. I have put them together on nothing but used parts and gone 10's. I simply got sick of driving them on the street, so I bought a newer car. In my old age, the rattles and crap started to bother me. I wanted A/C and leather with all the bells and whistles, and still to have power. Which, is the same thing that attracts ppl to a Corvette, among other things.

But, you can't bash any young kid for making that choice. Most of us were in the same boat once. At least he's not sitting in a bar all the time, or being a druggy. Racing keeps you out of bad trouble, and gets you into a little trouble. It's a good trade.

OP I agree that you should win but if I were you I'd joined some Chevy board to some that you know all of your replies aren't biased.

So you think that OPs car (who is "hoping" for 550hp.....hasn't even made that yet) would beat an HCI Z06? Or even a bolt-on/cam setup? I would say it would lose.

I have never bashed anyone that didnt deserve it like the Supra guy here.lol
I came from 3 mustangs myself 99gt,01gt and 03 cobra ...Loved them all , they all meant something special to me at the time...
Now I drive a Z06 which I love as well..Having said that I just hate when people bring up money and how much one spent on a car.
Its all about fun , modded or not...Some of these guys here are so just numbers here .,..

I think that he would win by a little but not much against a cammed and bolton one yes I do. A fully built one no. It is lighter and close to the same power and im sure that he could get it to hook better. From a roll though I think that the vetter would win

These are not all unbiased.. There are a few GM people in here....... :poke:

408s are capable of 9s@140+mph.. That should be plenty to DESTROY a stock C6Z... Anybody know what the OP runs?
