Drove a Ford GT yesterday!

Haha damn everyone is tearing each other up in here :burn:. Glad I read this thread. I too have driven a GT and it was nothing like anything else I have driven. I wouldn't say it handles like a 97 cobra though. That car just handles like its on rails and the power is rediculous. And I didnt think it was cheap on the inside at all but thats just me. everyone has their opinion though.

Get use to it brother, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Why for 1/4 of the price you can get a Terminator and throw a KB or Whipple and beat it, or if you wanted to Twin turbo it.

This is ridiculous logic. I always love when there's a video of vette or something getting smashed by a ____(enter exotic here). Following the video, you will have your share of people that say, "sure, but throw a HCIE and procharger kit on that vette and you'll blow the exotic's doors off."

The thing people fail to realize, apparently, is that...it's an exotic car. You are comparing a MUSTANG cobra to a GT. Really? They're no where near comparable. Power aside, the GT is exponentially better than a cobra is...modded to hell with a single turbo (and producting 1200-1400hp) or not.

When you drive to a car show, are people more impressed with a turbocharged mustang or a GT? Hmmm....I wonder.

what? he needs new tires, and wants a set for Lebanon Valley, i am a huge ford fan and love stangs and gt's. i simply thought id share my excitement with u guys and my simple opinion...i would never of posted if i were to get bashed to hell....aslo i got a pic of the gt..its on the side of the 3family house he owns in wtby...next to his used car lot...

Wrong so a 2010 gt500 5.4 makes 540hp on 8 psi yet it takes the GT 4psi to make 10hp come on now..

Do you seriously want to argue this, when you obviously don't know WTF you're talking about? A stock Ford GT makes 12#. Don't base your entire arguement on the fact that the factory rated the GT @ 550 and the GT500 @ 540.

Its not a ridiculous logic, a Cobra cost 1/4 of a GT and a GT500 cost about 2/4 of a GT. I will agree that you can't compare that way the car is built etc, but still, you getting the same amount of HP if not more for a lot less money in long run. Mod wise turbo kit s/c

A stock GT500 puts out what 500HP at the crank, and what maybe 490 or so the wheels, maybe they aren't numbers but there pretty damn close to a Stock GT. Throw a Hellion Kit or any turbo kit on a GT500 your hitting 1000HP if not slightly more, add spray your probably hitting close to 1150-1200 give or take.

You do the exact same thing to a GT you get some what identical numbers. the GT has what 550 at the crank and what 505 to wheels, throw a pulley on there your only getting a 10-12 HP increase if that.

You do the same to a GT500 your in the GT stock range if not slightly more. and your still not even in the price range of a Ford GT, they held their value for how many years now.

Who cares? :loser: You are comparing two totally different types of cars. If your logic made any sense everyone would drive around a 5.0 Coupe with (insert motor here). GT500.....car built for man that has more money than brains. Why spend all that on a GT500? Just buy a 3v GT, build the motor and install some spray. Would be cheaper and would walk all over a GT500 for less. seewhatididthere :poke:

How many GT guys do you think use their car for road coarse? not many they sit in garages and collect dust, and only see day light every once in a blue moon even modded ones.

Because the 4v has ton's more of potential that's why. and you can't really compare a 4.6L 3v to a 5.4L sorry that's just dumb. the Gt500 already have forged bottom ends, where you gotta put pistons in etc, to a 3v, but then you gotta worry about Block strength.

^^thanks guys, and yea you can do a zillion other things to a stang, but the looks that thing get si unbelieveable, and i dont look at the car like its 250 grand, i feel bad for the idiot that paid that new, cause i too would say beef up a '10 gt500 and call it a day, but this car is great, and ive driven a shit load of cars, too many wealthy family memebers, the ford gt is a goal to buy tho for me, i want one really bad, best bang for the buck in my OP, but hey to each his own, the car is gorgeous and he fact that he ddrives it every day makes it so much cooler, my neighbor daily drives his lambo diablo, and i get a kick out of that thing, i drove that as well, not as fast as the gt obv. but realy sick looks wise, idk, ill get more proof this weekend...

I guess a GT500 is much better than a Ferrari F430 too because most people just have them sit in a garage and dont race them and because you could put a pulley on the GT500 and beat the Ferrari on the highway. You are a clown... Heres alittle bit of a hint for you. Ford GT's sit in garages safe because they are a very limited build car worth something. A GT500 is just a Mustang.

that doesnt mean ford built them to collect dust. im sure they spent plenty of r&d time and built the car to hit the road course. the buyer of the car has their own free will to decide what they do with the car. ive met a few guys at shows that run theirs hard, while my boss on the other hand has his sit in a garadge till he wants to take it out. though when he takes it out he beats the piss out of it, hes taken a trip to the beach in it and loves driving the car.

your talking apples to oranges when trying to compare a ford gt to a modded car. yes you can mod the piss out of a gt500 or an 03\04 cobra for less but it doesnt negate the fact that its still a different car totally then a ford gt. each car will be respectable in its own rights at the end of the day.:beer:

I never said a GT500 is better then a Ferrari, where did that come into play, that's not even relevant to the subject none to less.

A Cobra is a Limited car as well if you think about, 19,140 Built between 03-04.

They only made so many Comp Oranges, but people still drive em.
