Although I'm happy the Yankees won, that umpire at homeplate was the worst and most inconsistent I've seen all season. Not sure if anyone else noticed it.

I usually dont complain about umps, but that guy behind home plate last night was definately terrible. I was shaking my head multiple times throughout the game. I dont care if a certain ump has a wide strike zone, and other ones have a tight zone, as long as its called both ways. This guy was inconsistent all night.

I actually saw a little different Joba last night. He was throwing HARD, just missed location, so like 03cobra said I wouldnt hesitate to goto Joba again in the 8th. I actually prefer him over Hughes. Anyway Go Yankees!! What a game last night. I am kinda torn about tonights game too, I would love them to close it out in NY. If it goes to a game 6 I will hopefully be there (have tickets), otherwise I am going up for the parade.

If it goes back to NY, have fun at the game. Take some pics!

At this point for sure. I think Girardi is hesitant to go to Hughes right now.

Lets take a look at Robinson Cano's numbers for 2009.

In 2009, Cano hit .345 with the bases empty.

He hit .250 with the bases loaded.

He hit .202 with RISP.

He hit .195 with RISP & 2 outs.

The more pressure you put on him, the worse he gets. He is a classic example of a stat-padder.

I hope he proves me wrong tonight and comes up with a big hit.

Interesting. I'm sure the Yankees brass takes note as well.

Interesting. I'm sure the Yankees brass takes note as well.

He was actually on the trading block this past off-season, but the Yankees decided to stick with him. The Yankee organization is definately well aware of his laziness. He was actually benched last year for not hustling. He doesnt exactly represent what the Yankees are all about. I'm used to seeing hard-nosed players like Jeter and Posada that rise to the occasion. I would never trade him though, he has way too much talent. They just need to work with him. One day Matsui and Damon will be gone, and we will need Cano (who is only 26) to move up in the order to bat possibly in the #2 spot. How could someone who gets over 200 hits and bats .320+ be that bad in the clutch? Lol. He can hit anyone in baseball! Except when there's runners on. He is aware of it too, he said its just a coincedence.

I wil say though, his defense is unbelievable. His range up the middle is the best in the game. When he's trying.

You really need to wonder what would have happened had Manuel gone with Cliff Lee last night and Blanton tonight. This might be a VERY interesting series then.
It's a shame the Phillies are going to lose this series, Utley is definitely putting up a MVP performance.

Utley is the only one who's hitting consistently on the Philly lineup. That team doesnt deserve to win this series. Lucky for them they have Cliff Lee. Otherwise it would have been an embaressment for them.

It's about to be a complete embarrassment for them. They are about to blow this game too! This is out of hand.

Too bad Jeter grounded into that double play. I would have loved to see ARod get up. Texiera needed to get hit by a pitch again. That's the only way he was going to get on, he's been awful.

What's up with Teixeira at the plate this postseason>???

Looks lost at the plate. Lets strikes go by, swings at balls in the dirt.

Sucks to leave Arod on deck there. Pretty rare double play by the captain in that situation. Oh well, back to the Bronx.
