As many of you know, Josh (Drinky-Josh) was involved in a bad motorcycle accident yesterday which resulted in several injuries including losing his left leg at the knee. Josh has been a part of our family here since day 1 and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this tough time. We are accepting donations to help with hospital bills or get him some goodies to help him through his recovery.
We will keep everyone updated with more information as it comes down, we are hoping Josh's recovery will be quick enough for him to give his own updates.
Please donate whatever you can, as soon as we have more details to when friends can visit we will have the check or items brought to Josh to help keep his spirits up.
If you own a liter bike, yes, going over a hundred miles per hour can very much be an accident. On a motorcycle its feels like the sense of speed becomes completely altered, like you are going much slower than what the speed limit is. This is extremely hard to explain to someone who has never driven a liter motorcycle...
Way to completely avoid the statements with the same "responsibility" reply
Well that's you. Even when I am doing nothing wrong I still get nervous when an LEO pulls behind me. It is a fear that you have instilled upon the people of this nation. Some of these LEO's wonder why people, who have a CLEAN RECORD, run from you? It is because of fear, we view officers as people who are out to ruin our lives, not make them better. You guys can be best of friends to each other, but when it comes to non LEOS you treat us like we are not human. Like we are inferior to you in some sort of way.

I won't argue it doesn't take long/ much gas to get a liter+ bike over a hundred. However, I disagree on the "sense of speed" part. Wind resistance, noticing you are blowing by cars/ objects at a much faster pace tell me I'm definitely going over the speed limit.

have you ever been on a sportbike?
Not some pos harley either, where doing 40 sounds like you are doing 120 but the aerodynamics of a brick want to push you over.
A nice sportbike on the freeway when you are tucked in and cutting through the wind like a knife through butter is a great feeling. All you hear is the hum of the engine and your breathing, and you get into a "zone" where time literally does speed up. I rode for 6mo or thereabouts and remember the feeling like i just got off the bike a minute or so ago. Sometimes a 1hr freeway ride feels like 5min.
To the guys saying the pursuit was ended, bullshit. Had that biker slowed down and pulled over to catch his breath, how many cop cars would be surrounding him within 30 seconds? Ill give you a hint, its equal to the same amount of vehicles that were there when the pursuit was still in progress.

This is a very sad situation. I was faced with something similar last riding season. Blew by a cop going 30 over. Seriously thought about running because Im pretty sure I could have got away considering I was in the middle of the country. Stories like these made me pull over the bike. I rarely speed or anything and my record was clear up until that point despite owning a very loud mustang and a sportbike. I figured showing respect and my record would mean the officer/judge would take it easier on me.
The judge denied me taking driving improvement clinic to have the ticket reduced. Many of my friends who got caught in cars speeding were allowed to take improvement clinics if it was their first time so insurance wouldnt find out. The judge Im pretty sure failed to show me leniency despite my perfect record because "I was on a sport bike". I dont think Ill have to worry about this again because like I said I rarely speed and 1 ticket isnt going to make or break me. But I was really frustrated. I can understand why some people run but its personally something Id have a difficult time doing unless certain circumstances were present.

Also, IMO if you are pursuing someone and you wreck your patrol car, its YOUR FAULT not the pursuee. Thats what you get for failing and being outclassed and not realizing that you cant catch them all. My town is getting alot of flack because n00b officers are out there wrecking left and right because they are trying to chase after some awesome machines and people are wondering why huge underpowered crown victoria land barges are still trying to compete with cars more lighter, better handling and more power when they should just end pursuit, put out a pb with the description and let another cruiser catch them when they arent paying attention. However it should depend on the situation and the officer should make that call and have the where-with-all to take into consideration a great many things, not just go "i hate bikes, ima catch this ****er"
