My curiosity goes to the purchasing experience. Do you deal directly with Ford? And if so, do you have a personal concierge for the process? Do you have the ability to communicate to the upper levels of Ford?

Such awesome cars. Hope you enjoy every second in them.

I was going to ask which one offers a better driving experience but I remembered one is a road car and the other is a straight up racecar. Is there anything comparable between the generations? And any plans to land an original Gulf liveried GT40?

Yah, I can offer a like-for-like comparison once i've driven the new FGT street car - that's on the docket for late next year, but schedules are subject to change.

And yes, I'd love one of the original Gulf GT40s. They go for ~$10M however, so there's a long list of things ahead of that purchase...

Superformance. Those are like 80% an original GT40, made using the factory molds. Only things improved are like wiring, suspension and brakes. You pick your own engine so you can have built exactly what won Le Mans.

Superformance LLC

The Superformance GT40 50th Anniversary
The 1969 season proved more challenging as competitor cars had become lighter and more powerful. The Le Mans race was the focal event of the season The GT40’s hoping for a fourth or fifth place finish.

Over the winter there was a shuffling of drivers, as Jackie Ickx, now recovered from a broken leg, took over “GT40P/1075” and Jackie Oliver was brought in to match his speed.

To start the race Ickx made a visual statement concerning safety. As all others sprinted across to be the first away, Ickx walked across the road. The other drivers also started without seat belts on. Consequently, P1075 was last away, but Ickx was well buckled up.

A serious accident on the first lap caused the field to be squeezed up. After the first lap it was P1075 in 15th place and P1076 in 12th place, As dawn broke 12 hours later “GT40P/1075” was in the lead with “GT40P/1076 third!” The sole surviving Porsche was catching the leading GT40 and eventually the two cars were side by side, swapping positions until the last lap, where the GT40 won by 1.5 seconds!

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of P1075’s unrivaled success, Gulf Oil, Safir GT40, and Superformance have partnered to bring you a limited edition 1969 Tribute GT40 featuring P1000 continuation prototype chassis numbers. These GT40’s include all aesthetic features of P1075’s 1969 Le Mans victory, a Limited Edition Gulf GT40 Guitar, and also a plaque naming twenty five of those employees who brought the Gulf racing team such great success that 1969 season.

The 50th Anniversary GT40 MKI will be offered in standard configuration with A/C, Left or Right hand drive, or as a special edition “Tool Room GT40P/1075” configuration that mechanically and visually replicates how these winning cars were raced and can be homologated for sanctioned historic racing.

Superformance GT40's are built for the street and feature air conditioning standard just like the original GT40 street car P/1028

I'm just saying, at a quick glance 150-250K, and you can RACE that without the worry of a 10 million dollar historic car. You seem to like the track more than simply saying you have it, so the superformance route might be best?

They even do the left hand drive with the shifter to your right, just like the real cars that won.

Did you buy this from the Canepa collection? Also, not sure if you answered, but are you getting Gordon Murray's T.50?

NW European. And no, it looks like a super-light street-legal race car, and I'm sure there are plenty of folk who will enjoy it.

Ben is your street car NFGT going to a heritage car?

That is the plan.

For the New Ford GT racecar, you just contact Multimatic directly and just order it. Ford is not in the picture.

These were taken from the old Miller motor sports Park museum outside of Salt Lake City Utah. As enjoyable as it is to see these, I would take a superformance over an original for the ability to drive it over losing value if it runs longer then 10 minutes
