Thats awesome! I would have him take it down to 850 and see if the car likes it. I have my car set at 875 and does well.

Yeah, and if he's adjusting idle speed, get him to play around with timing and the other tricks they use to coax a bit more choppy idle. Your car sounds/looks great, but if you've spent the time and money to install cams, then it should sound like it has cams, LOL.

Of course, you may not like choppy idle, and if that's the case, please disregard................. ;)

Yeah, my tuner left my car at 900. I'm like naw gotta be lower. I Had to adjust a couple a couple things in the tune but these motors can idle low & steady with a little attention.

The cammed motor sounds great. The bonus that it drives as normal is nice. Seems like more and more folks are going with cams. Enjoy your cammed GT-500 this summer.

Gonna leave her just like this for now. thanks for the tip though!

Sounds sick. What brand and who did the install?

Sounds great. L&M NSR?

Modular Head Shop Stage 1 NSR Cams

She's got a nice shake to her. I dont wanna change anything lol

Sounds nasty, how much power did they pick up?

Picked up about 40 horse on a hot/humid ass Day. I'm looking forward to strapping her down on the dyno in October/November!

Curious what the labor cost was. How many hours? Did they pull the motor or no?

Labor was $1200.00 Not sure on time. I don't think he had to remove the engine.

Full Story on the Build:
Did a VERY conservative tune with these upgrades:
Gen3R blower with 2.8 upper pulley. 16psi Max boost
Dual VMP Booster Pumps Running on 93 Octane.
ID1050X injectors

MHS NSR Stage 1 Cams.
Cobra Jet Drag Springs.

Soon as I can find a day off Ill hit the track and try to lay down some new numbers.
Future:
2021: Trans/Rear end Upgrades
2022: Full Built bottom end / Crank that HP over 1k

I had my cams installed at the time my motor was being built, so there was essentially no labor, that's why I asked. At that time, my mechanic told me if he ever does another cam only, he would pull the motor. $1200.00 seems really good. Congrats!

Matt Lepkowski does excellent work at affordable rates and has on multiple occasions talked me out of doing some really stupid shit lol. I drive like 6hrs round trip whenever I drop Her off to him. He's a stand up guy and tells it straight.

Again, VERY conservative Tune on a disgustingly Hot and Humid day,

2.8 upper pulley. 16psi Max boost
Running on 93 Octane.

763HP@6800RPM
704TQ@4590RPM

The goal here is getting the base parts together that can support 1000+HP when I’ve got the coin to upgrade the bottom end.

Very nice!

Your Tuner knows what he is doing. That 760hp will get to 800 on a cool night.

Seems like you are at the sweet spot on these motors, running less timing and not spinning that 2.65 blower hard.

Yup that’s exactly what we discussed. Reliability was the Key here. I don’t want to blow Ol girl to bits
