Left my driveway and my motor dumped all it’s oil. Suspect an oil cooler line failed.

Anyone else hear of anything like this happening? 1900miles on mine. Currently at the dealer awaiting diagnosis.

Check the oil filter. Make sure the gasket isn't still there. Sometimes when ppl change the oil
they forget to remove the old gasket which means its not sealed properly.

Anytime ive ever got a new car I put liqui Moly in it. Probably just an oil line that came lose tho no biggie.

Done that, ****ing sucks. Dumped like 3 of the 8 quarts in my driveway. Only make that mistake once.

And the GT500's use the newer, cartridge-style filter housing. Replacement filters come with a pair of new o-rings that you swap for the old ones at each oil change.

OP, I wish you luck here and hope for a simple fix.

Wanted to report back that it turned out to be a transmission fitting on the trans cooler line that failed, not engine oil. Replaced the lines and now back on the road.

Glad to hear, always nice when you think the worst and it turns out to be something "simple".

Now that's some good news! Glad it ended up being something relatively simple to fix. Also good to know that you didn't lose all of your oil, leading to an engine shutdown. That would have sucked on a new vehicle.

Glad to hear of the somewhat simple fix, but still very unfortunate for a 1900 mile car. Did they do anything about cleaning the driveway?

So this fitting that failed was where the line met the transmission or where it met the cooler?

Whatever is in this car, looked identical to engine oil to the extent that the technician even thought it was engine oil initially.

So it’s $50 a quart for this DCT specific fluid from Ford! $400 for a fluid change goddam.
Probably long service life but still!

I dove right in a few months ago and bought everything so I'd be ready for servicing the DCT. While the cost of the hardware is indeed higher than what many may be used to, I have to say that every component is top notch, first rate. None of this is anything I'd entrust to Fram, etc, from Autozone.

I destroyed numerous FMX's and C6's when I was young. I sure as shit ain't doing that with this bad boy. And to be honest, I don't mind paying for quality engineered hardware one bit. I still can't believe this car even got a DCT and am thankful it is one of the most robust units on the planet.
