Not original mystichrome leather, but if you want something to hold you over till you find an original steering wheel this would do it:

So is this the only steering wheel with the three leather Inserts like the mystichrme ones? I found some material that's very similar to mystichrome.

That’s not OEM (thumb grips) & color is slightly off too. In their description they state is not 100% true color but very very close.

They add the thumb rest section, but the style itself is the same. If you have material they can make one for you using the material you have.

Quick question the material you have is it something that’s currently in production ? Have a link or picture of the material ?

It looks like this. Vegan leather. So it holds up nicely. Still in production.

Dallas Custom did 2 Mystichrome wheels for me and they both were outstanding.

@HPLouis, did they use OEM material or did they source other similar (leather) material? That steering wheel that Dallas Custom did really came out great.

Jacob, you should expect that that vegan "leather" color changing material might not match the actual OEM Mystichrome leather as close as you want. Looks much brighter from the photo you posted. Just warning you that it might not be as close to Mystichrome as you want/expect. You might want to see a sample before you potentially spend a fair sum of money for one or two of those pocketbooks.

Hi,
I had a piece of OEM leather that I sent to them and they were able to make 2 wheels.

Know anyone with any of it left for a wheel?

I was able to get it from the FaceBook Mystichrome groups but now with the pandemic and price increases, pare either hoarding them or are asking thousands of dollars for Mystichrome leather.

For the extra wheel, I sold it for $2000. That wheel would have sold for $800 just two years before.

Holy sh!t. If the steering wheels are bringing that much, what's a full set of seats worth these days?

I had someone offer me $4,000 for the front seats I have sitting in my basement. I wanted to sell them since I originally paid $1,300 for them but I need them in case I want to restore my car in the future.

Damn! What are normal 10th ann. steering wheels going for? I was hoping to get one for mine, but I am not paying even half that for a steering wheel. I hope they make reps haha

WOW! I had no idea they were going for that kind of money. Makes sense. They are impossible to find. I have a whole set in my 96 Mystic that I bought years ago. The seats are gonna be worth more than the damn car one day. Haha!

Cliff Notes

if you own a DSG Cobra, getting parts is like the buy in on a $2.00 poker table at the local VA club.

Mystichrome is like the buy in for the final 4 Texas Hold Em tournament in Las Vegas.

Nice spread of stuff as always @HPLouis

Thanks. For the Shelby and Mystichrome, I kept all the stock parts just in case. too bad that day has come though: New York Is Now Using Cameras With Microphones to Ticket Loud Cars

Now with emissions inspection and this, I'm gonna put the cars back to stock so I don't have to deal with this anymore. NYC is not mod friendly anymore.

So I got the test strips of leather in from that etsy person. It actually matches the seat leather really well. I was impressed with durability (I torture tested the small sample piece quite a bit). Long story short I ordered all the material she had. Was about to place an order for 5+ yards of material as well. All for the vendor who makes and sells it through the etsy person to stop production due to staffing/covid reasons. The actual person who makes the leather is out of the game now. Which is perfect timing. Either way I got a decent amount to try and do some fun stuff with. Ill experiment on some shift knob wraps and maybe a wheel etc? Idk we shall see. Here is the comparison to the seat leather. Attached an imgur link for pictures, since they are way too big to post here.
