My car was running fine then I had it detailed and didn't realize they were going to get the motor wet.

It will idle and run at low speeds fine but when you get into the throttle it starts to basically bog down

I took the plug covers off and there was water in the drivers side, I blew all the water out and let it dry

I also cleaned the MAF and it is still doing the same thing

Any other ideas to check?

did you pull the coil packs out to blow out the spark plug wells? Id probably pull all 8 coils and dry em all out just to be sure. Who knows what they got wet - how long has it been since the wash? Hopefully it'll dry out shortly

Yeah I pulled each out and blew them out and let them dry before reinstalling them.

I might try getting a brand new MAF

i wouldnt replace the maf, the odds of it going bad are low IMHO. What did you use to clean it? there is MAF specific cleaner

I doubt it's the MAF. Did you pull the boots off the COPs? I've had moisture get up where the boot slides over the plastic.

Try this from my Terminator FAQs. Worth a shot. You should check all of the COPs.

If you expect a damaged COP, try the following:
Remove the coil (COP). Make two resistance measurements with a digital multimeter, one for the primary side and one for the secondary side. The first measurement is for the primary side of the coil. Where it connects normally to the connector will be two connections or terminals you will need to measure across, this if for the primary side. Connect your meter leads to the (+) and (-) terminal. The resistance should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 0.55 ohms. The secondary measurement will be from the (+) terminal and the terminal that is connected to the spark plug when it is on the car. This measurement should be in the neighborhood of 5,500 ohms, or 5.5M ohms. If either measurement shows 0 ohms or “overload” “OL” “999.999” or what ever your meter reads when there is an open the coil is bad.
