Greg

my gt has street tires right now and if i wanted to stay in it, it will blow the tires away in first, second, go a little sideways in third and turn them pretty good from 3rd to 4th. now a mach1 with a little more power can do it too.

Cal, my stopwatch showed 4.5s a few times, but I just wasn't sure exactly when to start the timer. I decided to play it safe and not risk making a false claim.

To be safe I started my stopwatch when I saw the speedo move, so it should be about right I guess. A G-tech would be more accurate I guess.

I like the black outs on that car, looks good. Also what kind of gears do you have in that thing?

Gear Ratio

Currently, I have the stock 3.55's. I am planning on buying a built 8.8" rear end from Currie Enterprises. I will either go with 4.10's or 4.30's.

EDIT: Anyone know why my elite signature is not showing?

If you dont mind me asking, what does a rear end from Currie set you back? Probably a smart idea to strap that on, ive heard too many bad stories of snappped axles with launching in the mach.

Currie Rules, We Stink

Here's a link to Currie's 8.8" rear end section:

http://currieenterprises.com/html/custom/88inch/rearend88Ford.htm

They are definitely pricey, but the quality of a Currie-built rear end is worth the price. I'm going with a set of Currie 31 spline axles, FRPP 4.10's or 4.30's, a Zexel Torsen carrier, an 8.8" Currie housing (not sure which one), and a set of Currie upper/lower control arms. After labor and other miscellaneous items, I am expecting to be set back somewhere between $2500 and $3000.

I can't wait to re-make this video once the rear end is done!

I wanted to save money on the price of the car and insurance. At the time, I didn't realize that I would be putting money into the car. I'm still very happy with my decision. Also, I prefer the Mach1 rear end over the Cobra's IRS although I didn't know when I bought my car!

Here's my video in MPEG format:
