Just a FYI, take every bolt you can off that shell, especially the ones from the interior. They are usually shiny and new and can make a huge difference swapping the old ones out in your engine bay if you are into having clean looking bolts. The compliment I heard most on my Spyders was the engine bay because of the shiny bolts that make the car look brand new vs old and rusted/oxidized.

DSM guys will sell a "box of bolts" that are clean/pristine like that for $50 easy. Its also great to have spare bolts and such around that are from the same car.

Also the convertible top assembly is usually worth some $$$ to dealerships, might want to call around. We would score $600 from one for a DSM since it was the same as a sebring and the dealers had issues getting parts.

What did the car make with the Novi 2000?

The car made 404/398.

Thank you sir. I have a massive bag of spare bolts taken from anything I could that wasn't needed. Everything else was bagged and tagged. Many of the interior bolts were rusty because I guess the top had a leak. Regardless, I kept everything as spares, and I can just wire wheel what I need to if necessary.

I may be taking the top assembly apart, I just need to find a place to store it. Space is becoming an issue now, my garage and basement are filled to the brim lol.

Not a large update, but the shell is gone! Thanks to Bob @ Connecticut Mustang for taking the shell away!

And of course, I immediately brought my car back to its happy place that night.

I also picked up a few parts for the build. My LFP dual pass extreme heat exchanger and brackets came last week, and guy I purchased the car from sent me the intercooler which I received today.

I also picked up an OEM radiator and fan last night from Jay (1320 Junkie).

Again, not a big update, but its something. Next week I have the whole week off and the wife will be at work so I plan to get a lot done.

- Swap differential center sections from the donor car (3.55) to my IRS, and put my center section (4.10) in the donor car IRS to give it to the new owner
- Remove blower setup and ship to new owner
- Remove motor/trans in prep for new owner
- If I have time, start taking the new engine apart for powdercoating

Stay tuned! :coolman:

Awesome build bro. 01 bullit is what made me fall in love with the 99-04 mustangs and why I still think is the best looking mustang ever. I worked for a ford dealership when the bullitt came out and it showed you with a few cosmetic touches you could have one sexy ride. The side skirts are awesome that's why I put them on my mach 1. If ford would have not just added 5 hp to it they would have been a lot more popular people just didn't want to spend the 3000 extra for it. First stick shift car I drove in the show room and almost took out the mirror. Sry for the story just brought back memories. lol

Yea I agree, if only ford gave the Bullitt a little more n/a horsepower that would have been cool. Not a problem though, I'll be resolving that issue shortly :-D

UPDATE:

Sad day, the Paxton blower setup has been removed. After 3 years and 8-10k miles, on to bigger and better things. Not sure if the new owner is on here, if any of you are on Instagram go follow @sonicbluecoyote to see the blower live another day in another SUPER clean DHG Bullitt.

3.55's for the win.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it!

UPDATE:

Today I got a good amount done, but of course the snowball is now getting bigger by the day. While the IRS is apart, I'm going to paint the subframe, control arms, halfshafts, dust shields, and hubs. May as well, right?

So I took my IRS apart, and removed my differential housing to swap it out with the one from the donor car with stock 3.55 gears. Then I took my 4.10 differential housing and put it the IRS from the donor car which is getting picked up next weekend.

I also just took deposit on the stock motor and trans today, so I'll be pulling those tomorrow.

UPDATE:

Welp, this week the car went from a perfect running and driving car, to a garage full of parts. As you've already seen, the IRS is in pieces ready for overhaul v2.0. I'm currently waiting for my new FRPP diff cover, Lubelocker gasket, and Royal Purple gear oil to come in from Amazon.

On Wednesday, my buddy and I pulled the motor/trans out of the car for the buyer who came Thursday morning. Here's a time lapse video I made of the drivetrain being pulled, as well as a few photos:

Me, excited as hell!

And my boy Alex

And the new owners pickup up the motor and trans

And how everything sits now

I'm going to begin painting parts on the IRS, then reinstall the IRS in the car. Then I'll switch gears to pulling the front accessory drive off the motor to change the oil pump, get some stuff powdercoated, and paint a few things.

Moar pics to come soon!

Haha seriously, the one day it was freezing too. Can't complain too much, at least I have a garage to work in. I won't have to use the crane again now until the spring when I put the new motor in.
