This guy I know Jimmy has 4.10's in his '03. I don't think he has it at the track much, but he did run an 11.6 (don't know trap speed). He has 2.80 pulley, full exhaust, chip, k&n drop in, and some fat tires on 18" rims, not sure what size. He also has some suspension work done though, and he has NO wheel hop.

that's a big negative. I already sealed the deal on the apten blower, and 18" afs wheels. I also am in the process of getting a Gen 1 Lightning to tow/haul some stuff. Work is going well right now. I am getting a home soon so something will have to go... The Cobra will probably be my daily driver then and I want it to be PERFECT when that time comes!:beer:

that $3000 I straight up lost kinda hurt how fast all this will get done. That sucked the big one... man, if I could do that over:nonono:

Top speed

Since we're talking about the value(?) of 4.10 gears...her's my pet (armchair) theory...

I think the ultimate (achievable) speed w/4.10 is HEIGHER than w/3.55.

Here's my logic....w/3.55 170 mph is 6300/5th gear &.. IF.. you shift to 6th..you're @ 5000..and I GUESS..drag will stop you...BUT

With a 4.10 you go 150/5th/6400..shift to 6th...5100 & go to 170/5700...and POSSIBLY continue...

3.55=170/5000
4.11=170/5700

Anyway what do you think.....No.. I won't try it...I live in NY...I am not looking for a girlfriend named Bubba...

I don't care about the top end anyways. I never even take my car above 90 or so. Guess I'm a wuss. Of course, I have also never had it at the track....

My car barely can break into the 11's at sea level and can trap 118.6 max so it is sort of weak. Juan's car can run 11.9's and ran over 120 trap speed at sea level. Both on 4.10's. Without changing my tune I managed to improve my ET's and trap speeds everywhere when I put the 4.10's in. The only causality was gas mileage, which dropped. But, maybe I was having too much fun with the more responsive gear? As has been stated, cars vary. But, two of us are doing just fine on Nitto DR's at the strip with 4.10's. On the other hand, Clutch Killer went 11's with 3.55's at the same strip. Who knows? I do know that 4.10's are a kick on the street and you soon get used to the 15% extra rpms that you are turning.
