I decided to create the build thread since my car is about to go under the knife. I know this is in the terminator forum, but i figured it was appropriate since my car is essentially the same as an sra swapped cobra at this point.....Mods feel free to move it if you disagree.

The build starts this friday. Ill be taking off the stock heads, cams and eaton to replace them with a set of MMR Stage 3 ported heads with 5 angle valve job, bronze guides, manley spring package and manley stainless steel forged valves. I will also be installing a set of 98 Cobra Cams in the new heads. They will be advanced 4 degrees. Ill be installing a brand new set of NGK BR7EF Spark plugs gapped at .028. Ill be sticking with my current intake setup which is a C&L CAI with a 110 mm maf.

The car already has a forged rotating assembly with manley forged flat top pistons, manley forged h beam rods and the stock forged crank. Engine also has a .030 overbore. Compression should be somewhere around 10.2:1. ARP bolts are used throughout. Ill be putting in brand new felpro 03/04 cobra MLS head gaskets and replacing a leaky oil pan gasket with a much better felpro piece. Actually, the engine will have all new gaskets and seals throughout, including frpp header gaskets. The engine will be strapped down with a brand new set of steel reinforced urethane motor mounts.

The posi race ported eaton (with port matched tb and plenum) will be spun by a billetflow 2.76 upper and custom 4 lb lower pulley that retains the stock cage. All of my stock idlers will be replaced with a set of brand new division x dual bearing idlers with snub idler. I also have full exhaust with long tubes, o/r x pipe and a magnapack catback. With the ported heads and full exhaust i think I might only end up seeing around 12-14 lbs of boost. Ill be swapping on a new 3.5" Alternator pulley to slow that down to accommodate the faster belt speed.

I will also be upgrading from the stock fuel tank with a single svt focus pump to an 03/04 cobra tank with twin ford gt pumps, a modified fpdm and 60 lb injectors with stock rails and lines (for now).

While the car is down I decided to upgrade to a melling billet gear oil pump, a stewart mechanical water pump and a jabsco cyclone 30 GPM intercooler pump. I will also be upgrading to an AFCO Pro series double pass heat exchanger. A killer chiller and larger intercooler reservoir will come later.

Thats pretty much everything. Im gonna run a 60% water and 40% coolant mix in both the intercooler system and engine coolant system. Its very rare but sometimes it does get down in the single digits here in the winter time so I would feel most comfortable with this mixture.

After the rebuild ill run some 5w 30 conventional oil for about 250 miles and then change it out for the good stuff, which will be mobil 1 full synthetic 5w 30 with the extended life filter. After that, my good friend Chris Groves of Dyno Edge will retune the car. Hopefully it makes some power.

Feel free to chime in about the build with any input you may have. Ive chosen this setup based on a lot of research from other builds.

To make it alittle more fun I decided to throw in a contest. This is my own little contest and is in no way sponsored by SVTP or anyone else.

CONTEST DETAILS:

Whoever gets closest to guessing how much power the car makes after the rebuild and tune will get a new SVTP T shirt of their choice (the new ones that just came out) paid for by me. IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE THE 48 states then ill ask you to cover shipping. You only have to guess how much rwhp the car will make. Dont worry about the rwtq, although feel free to guess that for fun as well. There will be no busting so you can guess over or under the actual amount. Whoever is closest wins. In the unlikely event of a tie (both over and under being the same amount apart) both winners will get t-shirts. These numbers will be based on CORRECTED SAE Dyno numbers from a Dynojet dyno. Car will be tuned on 91 pump gas. All performance mods the car will have are listed above or in my sig. Here is the website of the tuner for anyone that might be curious:

Thanks guys, just make sure when guessing that you dont choose a number someone has already taken because whoever chose it first will supercede yours. :)
