08 GT500 vs 12 5.0

Good run those first gen gt500s are slow stock. I raced my buddies 2011 5.0 with full boltons with 3.73s against my stock 2010 gt500. He stayed with me to about 75 mph after that it wasn't even close up top.

Sounds about right -- the 1st Gen 500s were no faster than the 03/04 Cobra from what I read in mags, due to increased weight (3920lbs) and drag coefficient. The 5.0s are both lighter (3600lbs) and sleeker so it makes sense to me. :beer:

You have a tvs lol. But ops car is pretty much full boltons. I see one pulling on a stock 2007-09 gt500 no problem. But there is a vid on youtube of a pulley and tuned GT500 running a bolton 5.0 and cant even pull a car on it. Witch i call bs

Quite a bit of GT hate going on in this thread :shrug:. Sounds like some legit runs op. My car hasn't been beat on the street YET. Fastest thing I have ran was a 2010+ CBR 600 so that doesn't say a whole lot since there are considered slow anyways .

Don't forget that an 08 is now 5 years old....I think they have hamsters turning the flywheel way back in 08.

Not sure if you knew but your GT500 is pretty much a 1st gen 500 as well :shrug:
If you get an 07 GT500 and get the same factory tune and intake as yours, it will make the same power which is just 40hp. Same weight as well, just different looks. The difference is very small that its still a drivers race between both cars.

Never got smoked by 5.o just annoyed as hell reading everywhere o my 5.0 beat this beat that damn does this car ever loose ? Because sure as f I rape them on daily basis put a gap as long as the china wall not even worth the fuel . I guess all the hype makes owners feel its really 800 hp instead 400

The 5.0 is a great motor plain and simple! I have a few buddies with 5.0s with twins that are the real deal Its not all hype. On boost these things are insane your tvs 500 would be a small snack

The 5.0 is a great motor plain and simple! I have a few buddies with 5.0s with twins that are the real deal Its not all hype. On boost these things are insane your tvs 500 would be a small snack

Already did that... 07-08 ish and it didn't put up much of a fight. He backed out of it after a put a few cars on him.

2007-09s have a stock airbox different tune. 2010 and newer have cai and alittle more aggressive tune. Do some reading it will go a long ways.

The older gt500s were heavy and slow. I thought everybody knew that ;-). Good run op most stock 07-09s make 420-440 range.
