+1, it's an 01 gsx-r 1000. Those things used to put down low 140s to the wheel. Judging by his clothes, it looks like you raced a really good rider.

No gloves, loose jacket that rides up his back and air max sneakers?

Sarcasm?

Anyone who knows how to race not ride a 1000 from 08+ esp a gsxr or zx10 would have 0 issues walking a 700hp GT500 Now some people scared of their bikes even with a stretch which is pointless to be scared of some tire spin will start in 3rd instead of 1st or 2nd at 75

Even the newer GSXRs have trapped 150+ stock. So either he was playing with you or didn't know how to race. Because anyone can ride a bike but not actually race one which is like driving. Everyone thinks they're a pro but 90% are Terrible whether its racing or just following daily common sense traffic rules.

Damn nice kill OP...running down 1 liter bikes is quite an accomplishment

I'm not sure why anyone is trying to take away from your win by questioning the year of the bike.....

I will guess the reason the year matters is because an '01 liter bike puts down about 140rwhp where a '11 puts down 180rwhp and is lighter. It still doesn't take from his kill but the new bikes are insane.

You dont need no 1000whp to hang with a 1000cc bike, that 's crazy. I used to have a 96 cobra with a vortech strim dynoed about 425 whp and i can hang with a buddy's 600cc ninja up to around 130mph from a 45mph roll. I know a fact that a 1000whp Supra already blow away an Suzuki Haybusa 1300cc with a turbo add on . If a turbocharged 1300cc Haybusa got beat by a 1000whp Supra then how can a 1000cc gsx beat an 1000whp shelby ?

O yeah I got that, but I was meaning congrats to op and not pick apart the W. but yeah if your beating any 600cc + sport bike your kickin ass and takin names.

I think the early 2000 1 liters are about as fast as the brand new 600s?

OP forgot to mention that the dude on bike had an extra passenger for second run.

425 rwhp and you can hang with a 600cc SS bike?

That is FALSE. You could MAYBE run with my Ninja 650

let me put this into perspective for you a 600cc SS bike runs in the high 10's...

HIGH FREAKING 10's

with a good rider. You can hang with your friend. Your friend cant hang with his own bike.

a 1000cc bike runs 9's

1000cc bike is faster through the quarter than just about ANY car in the world

Don't forget newer 1000cc bikes also trap 140+ easily.

You guys are quoting quarter mile times of bikes WHY???? It was a roll race which is 100% different. His 740rwhp is plenty enough to make a litre bike his bitch from a roll deal with it.

Unless the rider fell asleep, was a novice, or had no idea what he was doing, there is NO way you'd beat a gsx-r1000.... I have a 13' gt500 and a 2007 GSX-R1000 and I can tell you, my bike would walk your car alllllll day long...

Sorry.... you need 900-1000rwhp to beat one of those.

I thrashed a gsxr1000 in my car but yes the car has 1000 HP , for the cycles I can't beat in the car I have a fully built 500hp turbo busa:rockon:, that thing scares the shit out of me at 1/4 throttle, I have an AMS 1000 to ramp the boost .... It's stretched 8 over with a Mcintosh pro-alum-arm..... Still scares the shit out of me.:cryying:

No 1000 supra car is going to beat a stage one turbo busa ( which is usually around 240 to the tire, drive train loss is pretty much the same as a car)
Your dreaming.

Good kill OP.

Ok i read the whole thread and now i have a questions.

I raced 3 bikes in my 11 5.0 Paxton-charged with 600/500 tuned by AED.
i have NO IDEA makes, models or years of the bikes. All friendly runs happened in Mexico and the sun was already down.

1) Race i think it was a 600. He challenged me to a run.
Raced from 60 to about a 100 and put 2 cars on him. The rider gave me huge thumbs up as he seemed more excited than i was at the time.

2 and 3rd were buddies and one of them told me that he is on 600 and his friend has a 1000. I was sure that i will get owned but the outcome surprised the hell out of me.
Here is how it went.

I ran them from 60 to about 130 and i shut it down at 130 (did that twice and i was ahead both times). The bikes kept going the 2nd time without slowing down and it happened that when i took an exit they were at the same exit. (i did not want to go at high speeds for a long time for obvious reasons)
When i pulled up after them at the light the guy on 600 looked back and started shaking hands with his buddy like they just smoked me. Which at that point i knew my car seemed to hang with them.
We turned around and got back on the highway. This time the guy on 600 would not line up, but the supposedly 1000 did and this time around we actually had clean 2 runs from 60 to 120 and the outcome was pretty much identical with me being ahead by about 2 cars at 120 mark.
Although the 600 never lined up with us, he just took off in the left lane both of us (1000 and I) passed him.

After the runs the rider of the 1000 gave me thumbs up (while 600 guy did not acknowledge anything and was not even looking at us) and i did the same and tuned off the highway.

Again, i do not know models, years or makes of these bikes, but this happened and i'm not sure why. I don't think they were playing with me because we had more than 1 run each time.
I guess the bikes were older models, but hey kill is a kill.

Any reasonable explanation other than the bikes were old or the riders sucked ?

I stated what 1000cc bikes trap speeds are. That is a solid indicator of a car/bike's true power and is a good comparison to use in roll races. So many dreamers in here that don't understand how fast bikes are and what it takes to beat them and not just the rider. Some new 600s even trap 130-135mph and people with 400whp cars think they can smoke them...

My buddies 756rwhp C5Z would HURT stock 1000's.....

But it was a 143mph car...

This post created questions in my mind so I did some research and found a website that lists performance numbers for all manufactures of bikes going back into the 1990's. This provided a little clarity to me as it relates to performance from 600's, to 750's, to 1000's and beyond.
