I am assuming no one here has driven anything other than a Mustang, look at a Mini Cooper, those are probably 13's, that's small.

Funny you mention that. This past weekend at an AutoX event I attended, there was a '68 Mini Cooper running on 13" wheels, using ATV road race tires. $15/each! Talk about cheap! And I didn't even know ATVs road raced.

Actually...original MINIs, and even the Cooper, came with 10" wheels. That's 10" diameter!

If you are strictly going for performance, there is no better choice than a 18" setup. If you're going for aesthetics, 20" gets my vote.

A lot of people claim they have better/cheaper tire choices in 19" vs 20". This may have been true several years ago, but that is not the case now--at least for common sizes.

Here is my car on the stock 19's vs 20's:

Those Velgens look amazing on there. What size tires? I've heard the 315s are a little too much with the offset on that wheel in the rear and stick out a bit.

I won't lie, the 20's do fit the size of the car better, but it also makes the brakes and rotors look very small. It seems to be a "cut of your nose to spite your face" or double edged sword deal.

Here's my setup with 19X9.5 Drifts and 285/35/19 Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Position tires. Been quite happy with them on the road course and as a daily driver.
