2.1 KB with all the typical mods 17 psi in FL will Iat2 be too high? I notice with my 8psi pulley im running around 125F iat2 when in summer FL traffic... I was thinking of going up to 17PSI and maybe running a meth injection to help cool things down at WOT... on 93 octane... will this work ok or am i pushing it? any other suggestions?

Will that much boost push the blower out of it's efficiency range? That's what really creates the heat. What temps are you seeing at WOT now?

im only at 8 psi now so it goes down at wot and i trypically only go a few gears as my tune was such a mess... but perfect now.. but cold here LOL.. ya, I am thinking thats gonna just create a bunch of heat at 17 lbs.. I think ill go 14LB..and if the temps get too high (iat2 above 130f) then ill add the water injection in.. good plan?

your engine mods are almost exact same as mine.... killer chiller.. I looked at that.. any down side to that thing?

Do your research about meth injection and a roots/screw type blower. It’s a debated topic. I can tell you it’s not as easy/efficient as a centrifugal blower. Just do some research, it’s out there

17-18 PSI is the upper end of the efficacy range of the 2.1.

I say this because ages ago 2V guys were adding larger inlets like those off the 2.6 and custom and running 18 PSI and AITs weren't to bad.

I remember one guy pushed his to 20 and made over 600 RWHP but the blower was maxed and IATs were becoming an issue.

OP I say go for it and do some intercooler mods as well as meth injection if needed.

Debated topics don't mean a thing without numbers and most threads I looked at had zero when I was researching.

KB is one of the few manufacturers out there that doesn't have a problem adding meth before the blower because of the anodizing on the rotors. As long as you don't use it for additional fueling it will keep IATs down.

I do feel that intercooler system mods are better overall because you don't have to add more equipment to your car or create additional failure points.

Well I wasn’t referring to forums. Sorry I should’ve clarified. There are plenty of “studies and research” by companies who do this stuff for a living. I’m not saying it’s not doable, I’m just saying it’s not as simple as a centri blower. That’s all. However, if YOU end up having facts and numbers to back up meth, can you please share them. I’m contemplating meth myself, but am also trying to find good evidence of it being effective.

What intercooler mods? ive got a larger front cooler... I have no idea if the under blower cooler has been changed..

A couple companies make upgraded intercoolers now. (the piece under the blower) You'll want to upgrade the intercooler manifold. Bigger lines. Better pump. There isn't one thing that helps. It's the whole system.

I have an Afco dual pass heat exchanger, VMP intercooler, and 13/14 GT500 intercooler pump. I cruise between 110-120 usually. I'll see 140 at the end of a hard 2-4 gear blast, but it recovers a lot faster than it did with the stock intercooler with everything else the same. I still need to upgrade the intercooler manifold and the lines.

main down side to the killer chiller is balancing intercooler temps vs in cab temps. They also have a race kit that runs either all cab ac or all chiller ac, would be kinda neat with a valve on a switch or something.

I am curious as to why you don't think it is as easy as a centrifugal blower? What do you mean specifically?

Anything that inproves water flow through the system.

I am not familiar with the 2.1 kit on a terminator but I'd be very curious as to how KB did everything and what restrictions I'd find.

I say this because my 2.1 2V kit has a few issues that I have addressed that will greatly improve flow. Eventually I'll get that thread going for everyone to see and hopefully help others out.

Are you debating installing or post supercharger?
I don’t mean the install. I meant more of a results stand point. As far as install, pre blower would be the exact same is a centri. Post blower, forget it for me. Way too involved and I’m not looking for a max effort car. I have a ProCharged F1C foxbody for that. With water/meth injection.
Through the research I’ve done, spraying pre-blower didn’t yield the best results. My tuner said don’t bother as it doesn’t do much, in his experience. (This of course is just one persons experience/opinion)I’m a big water/meth injection guy, so if I’m wrong, please tell me. I’m trying to learn if it’s worth it as well. My word choice was probably not the best in my above posts. If I’m wrong and it is worth it to install pre blower and someone can share factual evidence, that would be great.
Thanks

Now I understand where you're coming from. You're 100% it is a heavily debated topic.

I have ZERO data or back to back testing to prove my stance on meth pre or post blower.

My stance has more to do with what is possible for each individual setup.

Pre compressor is by far the easiest but doesn't seem to yield the best results because the air and meth is being compresses and subsequently heated. In my mind for this to make a huge difference the intake charge would have to be drastically cooled below the ambient air temp in order for there to be a significant drop in IAT after the intercooler.

There does still seem to be a drop in IAT and there is still the benefit of raising octane slightly.

Post compressor seems to work the best but I know this is by no means easy for most setups and in some cases a total PITA.

I am lucky in this respect because I have a 1.1 in spacer directly under the blower discharge port that would allow me to plumb in a nozzle easily. I would still have to pull the blower though to drill and tap it.

I recently modified my intercooler and I plan to see how that works out before going the meth route. If I do I'll most likely do testing pre and post blower to see what the numbers are and post them up.
