So apparently there is interest...no replies to it? *shrugs shoulders* Seems like another empty thread.

I'm going to let this percolate for a little bit yet. I 'think' my plans have changed on needing another splitter because I think I'm going to modify my C/F 2000 R splitter to fit my existing Terminator bumper cover. But if the price is right I may even pick up a spare. These are great units and are 1,000 times better than that OEM piece of crap that really should not go over 60 MPH on a car.

I will get in contact with Andy around the beginning of March and get an estimated headcount on quantity so he can get some prices from the fabricator. Once we have prices people can commit with a yay or nay and send in the required deposit to Andy.

Early March. Any news?

As a matter of fact I just talked to Andy on my drive home tonight. The C/F fab guy was unavailable for about 2 weeks on a special boat project. Andy told me he was going to start working on a quote for us and we hope to have an answer in about a week to 10 days. If memory serves me correctly, there were a total of 8 people interested including myself. I told Andy to have him quote 4, 6 and 8 pc quantities. These quantities should make it worth the guy's effort plus give us all a nice quantity discount as well.

I hope to have an update for everyone shortly.

Stay tuned.

Thanks for the update! While we're on topic, does anyone have any tips on reinstalling the factory splitter? It seems like there's no way around not jacking the car up.

I put painters tape on the right side bumper so when the splitter slides it won't scratch the paint. I lay on the left side of the car with my legs under to support the splitter. I make sure it hits the center mounts while i hold the left corner so it doesn't scratch. Once I get the center mount on I put the fasteners on the left side... At that point I go around the right side of the car and put the fasteners in there and work my way around the entire front of the bumper....

I use to do this quite often pulling the car inside and out of my garage because my driveway to garage had such a dramatic dip. Now I don't have to worry about it since I have fresh asphalt :)

Ok Folks:

We finally have the numbers from the fabricator for the Carbon Fiber 2000 Cobra R splitters. They are $1,400.00 EACH. There will be no Dzus fasteners nor will they be painted. They will be bare Carbon Fiber.

Unless you plan on picking these up in Houston, TX there will be a packaging charge of approximately $75-$100.00 each. (Andy will be better able to estimate this) Domestic shipping charges in the US depending on how far away from Houston you may be will most likely be in the $145-$195.00 range. (this is just a guess) These units are very light but very big and bulky which is why the freight costs get so high.

Andy will be checking in here shortly and will be asking people interested in getting one. In order to reserve your splitter you will be required to pay $1,400.00 up front before your splitter will be manufactured. Freight and packaging charges can be figured by Andy and paid for at the time they are quoted to you.

If I remember correctly, Andy said delivery will be about 3-4 weeks. The fabricator can only make one at a time, so delivery will be on a first come (paid) first served basis.

If you have questions I suggest you wait for Andy to chime in because he will be better able to answer them for you.

Bruce

Just so you all understand, when I was running the OEM oil cooler I was not getting enough air to it so I cut a hole in the splitter and put a vent in. The splitters will NOT have this vent. They will be a flat surface there just like the OEM part. The weight of 7.3# is a little heavier because of the vent. I can't remember the weight of the bare unit but it did gain some weight after it was painted. So I'm guessing it's in the high 6# range unpainted.

These splitters look exactly like the OEM splitter. They were patterned off of an OEM splitter. What are you seeing that gives you the impression it's different?

Got it, I saw the center vents and found your old post explaining why you modified yours. I need to research a little more but will most likely also be interested in one of these puppies.

I have taken mine off and reinstalled it a few times without the need to jack the car. I lay it on a tarp and slide it into position. I then lift and connect. I also took a shorty regular screwdriver and cut it even shorter so I can tighten the fasteners without the front tires interfering.
