Heres my 2011 GT/CS I picked up in December. Was planning on some minor cosmetic mods, turbo kit and some wheels.

Got my hellion single kit installed and it was a monster. Was well on its way to just getting the above mentioned mods. Well I had #8 failure and have since parted ways with the original plan.

Update to last week where Forged manley rods and pistons, MMR head cooling mod and oil gears, circle d converter and clutch upgrades, aluminum driveshaft, full upr suspension(k member, upper and mount, lowers, panhard bar and brace), 2013 GT500 wheels, return style fuel system, Strange 10way struts/shocks, eibach pro kit lowering springs, magnaflow exhaust and braided brake lines.

So the plan got slightly rerouted but this thing should be a monster when its done. Just playing the waiting game now, waiting on the big brown truck to show up.

Heres some pics from when I got it to now.

Well that #8 picture doesn't look familiar. Definitely not a problem with factory part lol. Every freaking one looks like a copy/paste.

Sorry to hear about your engine. It will just come back bigger and badder
Thanks and true that

What signs led you to believe there was A #8? smoking? knocking? cel?
Almost spun out into a wall. When the piston let go it started puking oil out the exhaust, it was leaking oil out of the slip joints on the turbo piping and downpipe also. It coated the bottom side of car and the rear tires. Was smoking like a freight train so we pulled over and trailered it home. Car was still running surprisingly well. Just had a very slight miss.

Anything is possible. I put about 170 miles on it the night before, then another 60 or so before it happened. Made a few other hard pulls and then it let go.

Im not blaming them. Could it have been the tune, yes. Could it have been bad gas, bad part, just a lean spike, etc. Yeah. I know at the end of the day its part of it and if you can't afford to fix it if it happens you should probably just keep it stock.
