There needs to be more videos and testing of the Z06 to see what it can do, and the A8 trans needs to be tested. I am assuming that the viper TA walks a 13/14 GT500 from a roll?

We may be waiting a while for that one.

Given that the gen V Viper is almost identically as fast in the straightline as the C6 ZR1 and we know how a 13/14 GT500 does against that, it is reasonable to assume a similar outcome. Trap speeds as high as 132 help validate this .

I generally prefer not to use multiple magazine articles conducted under different conditions to compare cars. They all correct their numbers anyway, so who really knows what they actually ran. Considering SVTP's own drag times thread doesn't even have a true 128mph run in a stock Shelby, I highly doubt a magazine actually ran it without a correction.

Obviously a modded car will change the outcome. The gen V is a sold 500# lighter than the GT500, with almost identical power to the ZR1. Is anyone arguing that the GT500 will out run a ZR1 stock for stock?

I love the Viper TA and would buy one if that was the car i really wanted.
I love the 2014 GT500 and that is the car i ordered to my spec and color.

The Viper has a better power to weight and my car is only 3750 pounds.
All Stock, No options, No stripes, power to weight is 5.66 pounds per horsepower.

Viper is faster but it would be close from a roll 60-160 as the GT500 has one less shift.
We are living in good times right now and if you own any of these cars your doing OK...

2014 Shelby GT500 with wife as passenger ( 125 lbs ) vs a New Dodge Viper ( 13/14 not usre but was not a GTS ) with wife in as passenger ( 140 lbs ). Viper slowly pulled from 60 to 140 roll. Temp in the Low 50's after a Christmas Party. 2014 Shelby GT 500 has an Airaid filter and JLT Intake Tube, stock Tune. The Viper has Royal Purple Fluids and Stock Tune.

2014 Viper is a very nice car and I would love to own one.....yes it is faster.

I still love the ZR1 and if the interior was a little nicer it would have made the car so much better
