What a thing of absolute beauty. I've seen about 4 in person and each time I'm in complete awe over their existence.
A concours ready example of that car should pull six figures easily, at auction.
I looked at the location of this article because I remember when I worked cobtruction after highschool there was an excavation yard I drove by all the time and they usually had a few classic Mustangs projects in the yard. You could tell they had money and just liked to restore cars. But one day I drove by and on a trailer in front of their garage, like the one shown in the article, was a black 69 Boss 429 along with another valuable Mustang, but I can't remember because the Boss 9 was the only one that mattered to me; probably a Mach 1. It looked like it had come out of a very long hibernation and was going to be woken up. I want to say I remember hearing about it later on at an auction based on the location of origin, verifying it was a real Boss 429.Very few.
There was a mostly original black '69 barn find a couple years back, in worse condition, with almost the same miles.

I believe that same car was sold at auction on an episode of "What's My Car Worth". I don't remember what it sold for though.
Hell a basket case is worth 6 figures.
OP if the owner was just going to sell it I wonder why he cleaned it up at all? With an original low mileage car like that sometimes it's better to sell it just as it sits. Wish I had the money! My dream car since I was a kid. Red is my least favorite color but still bad ass.
I disagree. When we picked up the car we didn't know if the engine was locked up, tires were in bad shape, rear brakes were froze up, interior had some mildew, and of course the paint needed a good buffing. Now the car runs flawless, brakes work great, it's a quality driver. The condition of the interior and paint is show quality. And extreme caution was taken to ensure the originally of the car! I believe at least $100k has been added to the value of the car in its current state.
The car will bring big money for sure but there are buyers who will pay top money for an untouched original car. It's all the rage now with collectors. I'm sure he'll be happy with the money it brings regardless.
I'll take one in Grabber Blue with white interior please...
We all want to hear the price.
