Hello,

I'm trying to decide if I want to change the stock 3.55 gears to 4.10s - Will there be that much of a noticable difference? - I'm not trying to make this a all out track car, but I do race from time to time at a local 1/8th drag strip - I dont want to make the gas mileage terrible on it either! - Just wondering what your input is on this! - Btw I'm still on the IRS with Bruces Bushing Kit!

Thanks

^If all you will ever run is 1/8th mile then I would do it in a heartbeat. Just realize if you get up into the 600 hp range and you ran 1/4 mile you might run out of gear. I would love to do this because I mainly run 1/8th but I'm not giving anything up for when I run 1/4 mile occasionally.

My friend had 4.10s and was topping out 3rd gear in the 1/8th and 4th gear in the 1/4. I have 3.73s and feel like they are awesome but not much different than stock. I only changed them because when I got my car they were making a lot of noise.

4.10s here, definitely love them...from 3.55s to 3.73s is nto worth it in my honest opinion but 3.55s to 3.90s could be worth it...there will be a lot of people here that bash having 4.10s...I don't really go to the track but race every once in a while around town and the 4.10s make it an animal...

Did it kill your gas mileage on road trips!? - I dont take many long trips with mine, but there are a few car shows that I like to go to that are a few hours away!

Can someone explain the difference between the gears? I know 4.10 spins the driveshaft faster than 3.90's? But what effect does it have on your powerband, rpm range, butt dyno, ect...?

YOu will run out of gear faster with the 4.10s. Since I am planning on going whipple I stuck with the 3.90s. If i was going to stay at 500hp i would have gotten the 4.10s

look bro im gonna set you straight i could only run a best of 13.7 with my Mach with a C&L untake system,Bassani X-pipe with cats & Flowmaster American Thunder catback. I went to 4.10's,tune & drag radials now im running high 12's. I wish i went to 4.30's now that im getting used to 4.10's. I just felt another Mach with 4.10's & a 100 shot dry nitrous kit and it hits real hard !!!

A 3.90 is a pretty good compromise for a Cobra but 4.10s work on a 600rwhp car with a 28" slick real well in the 1/4.

I recomend 3.9's, cause I got 4.10's. I like the gears but a tad lower on the highway would be good.

No, it did not kill my gas mileage...get 21-22 on the interstate at 75mph...18 in the city 20 if I drive very easy...
